As if he would opt out to take less money in the nrl
Hayne is on $800K under the cap at the Titans and an extra $400K third party with Trip a deal which is supposed to be not part of the club yet they sponsor them on their outfit. Figure that one out.

Or does Hayne realise he f**ked up and, having got a chunk of his millions already for the past 8 months or whatever, not care so much about what he actually earns at Parra?

I'm only guessing FTR, because he's clearly not happy at the Titans.
Yeah well no merkin pays you $1.5M to be happy. Do that shit on your own time.

That sponsorships is a Marquee player agreement not a TPA .... Jarryd will want his 1.2m - if we can find a 3rd party fine, but i dont see it happening

I agree he's likely not happy but people are talking about offering a guy who is on $1.2 million about $700K. I don't see that happening. If he did come I'd reckon it would be for closer to a million. And we might have more money than when he originally got an offer from us.

He's already earned, what, 300 or 400k for this season?

He might take 700k over the rest of this season and next for the chance to earn more next deal, rather than languish in an environment he hates for 1.2 mill and then only get 700k next contract anyway.....It's all just spitballing anyway. IF Avenger's source's bloke is Hayne, the club will have a number they're happy with.

If it was hindyeleevn he would take the pay cut. But only if he could play for Penrith.

Yeah, fun to guess though. Doubt it's him anyway.

Hayne keeps Titans guessing

As the Titans await a decision from Jarryd Hayne in the next few weeks on whether he will take up an option to remain on the Gold Coast, the club will move to keep Ash Taylor away from a long list of clubs looking to throw a lucrative deal on the table at the end of the season. Titans management will meet with Taylor over the next three weeks to discuss extending his deal beyond the current 2018 expiration date. The Broncos are very keen on bringing him back to the club, however a couple of Sydney teams have also identified him as a priority target. As for Hayne, he is yet to make a decision on what he will do in 2018. The Parramatta Eels aren't rushing to bring the prodigal son home, but there is a suggestion he is keen to play in the 2019 Rugby Union World Cup in Japan. Given his brief stint for Fiji in sevens, he won't be able to represent Australia but Fiji remains an option. Hayne was close to playing in the French rugby competition before deciding to join the Titans, and could be enticed into doing so if he wants to play in the 2019 World Cup.

I reckon Neil Henry would be stoked if Hayne told him next week that he didn't intend to take up the option for 2018. They could take that 1.2 million bananas and offer it to Tedesco. As pointed out, Haynes days at fullback look numbered and the Tits are sorted for halves.

Actually, Henry would need a decision from Hayne this week because if Cleary is named Tigers coach this week. It might be too late!
