It's not that he 'got them sacked', it's that he was a massive contributor to teams being uncompetitive. Part of it was poor return on his huge salary, part was his negative influence on group dynamics.
Well you would think that the coach has a say in the amount they offered Hayne so the poor return on investment is largely their own doing. If all his coaches had BAs attitude of sticking to an offer what they thought he was worth then that becomes his valuation.

So when stags says it it immediately gets come credibility but when I basically tell you pricks that he has enquired about returning it gets dismissed.

We love your curves and all your edges

Yep. Also the first person that should be held responsible for a teams poor performance is the coach. Not your best player.

No-one is suggesting that.

I suggested that the best player has more responsibility than other players.

I also suggested that great players have more of a chance of improving shit teams if they are also great leaders.

Then I pretended to do some work for a bit.

Regardless of whether anyone wants him back i believe the only time Hayne will play his best football again is if he is with the Eels.

At the right amount and with a coach that doesn't take shit like BA, he could be the final piece of the puzzle.

He won the Dally M with BA as coach, that can't be forgotten.

Who would have thunk it?
Reading through this thread, one would be convinced that Hayne only ever had one good season at Parra - 2009.

Can't find much for 2010 (but we finished 12th), 2011 (14th), 2012 (16th) , 2013 (16th)

The Frilingos Award is for a memorable moment. Maybe he trained hard one day ?

The thing about Hindys comments are that he never put in. Well f**k me, in the many season I've watched Hayne he always had a go. If we managed to lose, he probably was the easiest scapegoat. They say defence is about attitude, and Hayne always proved to be an excellent defender. There's countless tries he saved not many could. I'm not defending Hayne here, I just think Some comments are a stretch of the truth.

It sounds like Henry had no say, and had to do his Board's dirty work post-Hayne in explaining the poor retention offers to other players.

BA is just lucky he didn't have a Board making political decisions about recruitment and overruling his valuations.

It's kind of the same effect when Hayne signed an improved deal with us and then had a cry that we couldn't afford to retain his mates Inu and Mateo. Hayne's potential and his price tag have never returned the value of decimating your squad to have/keep him, even if acknowledge he had 2 good seasons with us.

The best thing in this thread, and tbh the only thing that makes it worth reading, is the posters who put shit on blokes like Kent and Crawley, the DT and the Courier Mail and News LTD etc, at every opportunity....and then turn around and swallow it like Sasha Grey every time they say anything against Hayne. Barrels of laughs.

One of the biggest wastes of talents........Hagan losing control of the younger guys was so detrimental to him as he plunged right off the edge without the support he truly needed much earlier than he eventually got it.

Tim Smirh never got support, or if he did he must have pissed it away. Check out the youtube of his DUI that cost him his Superleague contract - seems a self-destructive basket case to this very day.

Why would you think his say matters any more than the bean counters, marketers and other merkins who are also invested in recruitment and retention?

Once again, we don't know how much control Arthur's has over contract limits and negotiations, or more importantly, how much control he (and other coaches) had prior to Bernie Gurr's arrival at the club.
