No, I said the other rep players get off scot free for being shit, its pretty simple really

He is who he is, he is not going to change his personality to suit other people.

I dont like him or dislike him, he's not an Eels player so no real care factor me me, I normally dont even post about him.
Fair enough. I am a bit over the merkin as well.

Peter Sterling does not expect Jarryd Hayne to play for Parramatta Eels again

By Paul Zalunardo

Speaking on his Sterlo’s Wrap-Up video for Wide World of Sports, Sterling said Hayne’s best days were probably behind him and the Eels would be best served to stick with the young talent they have at their disposal.

While saying that the woes being experienced by the Gold Coast Titans were not solely the fault of the former San Francisco 49ers players, Sterling said Hayne’s days at the Eels should be over.

''I think his time at the Eels has passed, I was disappointed like a lot of Parramatta fans when his time in the NFL finished up that he didn’t return to Parramatta,’’ he said.

''I thought the club had done the wrong thing in firstly allowing him to go and not making something official that if he did return to the NRL that he came back to the blue and golds.

''But time moves on, the roster at Parramatta has improved, especially in areas that Jarryd Hayne would be looking at.

''The kind of money he’d be talking, I don’t know what clubs would look to accommodate that. I don’t think he’s going to be as valuable unless he has a bumper season next year for the Gold Coast Titans.

''But I don’t see him in blue and gold once again. I question whether the best days of Jarryd as a rugby league player are behind him.

''There are a couple of signs there that he hasn’t come back as dominant and exciting as what he left.’’

The Eels boast talented youngster Clint Gutherson and Bevan French in the fullback position. It is unlikely the club would offload either of that pair to make way for an aging Hayne.

While on the Eels, Sterling said the club needed to be very careful the way they acted with regard to French rugby bound winger Semi Radradra.

Fresh off a masterful four-try performance against the Broncos, Radadra has asked the Eels to keep some money up their sleeve in the hope he can return following a season playing the 15-man game.

Sterling said the club needed to cover their bases before they agree to any such idea.

''It’s a wonderful gesture and it’s lovely to think that Semi may come back to the club after his jaunt overseas, but Semi’s not the most reliable conveyance I suppose,’’ he said.

''To keep the kind of money that you would need to pay Semi aside and [then] for whatever reason he doesn’t come back, then you may have missed the boat on some other talent coming in.

''I would want something official before we went away.

''I don’t know if you can keep that sort of money aside in the hope that Semi – down the track is going to decide to return to the NRL.’’

He's got a point about leaving the porch light on for Radradra. We need to move on and plan for life without him. That will mean not leaving room (in both the squad and the cap) for him to come back if he decides maybe he feels like it somewhere down the track.

Of course he has a point about Semi. It's already been mentioned here. And aside from that the money dramas with Semi were almost constant. I wouldn't be leaving money unspent for him.

He was a whiny, obstinate, disloyal merkin at times. f**king great runner though. Tied with Jack Wighton for most errors in the NRL.

So yep, this year was an anomaly. I'd say not having his mind 100% focused at the start of the year may have been a contributor.
Yeah, prior to this year he's averaged about one error a game. Clearly an anomaly, and I agree it's probably off field distractions taking their toll. I reckon he was almost single-handedly responsible for our loss to the Titans. We would've gone better playing with 12 men.

Sterlo being captain obvious about Hayne - three years after some others (ahem) clearly predicted that Hayne was never. coming. back.

And agree we should kiss Semi goodbye - we don't need flakey f**ks who decide to "follow their dreams" to other codes and expect the door to be left open to their every whim. Semi has been (relatively) shit this year, would cost us a lot more to retain than he's worth to the squad, and it would imbalance the amounts that BA can spend toward spine players (and their backups).
