Also shows he has no intention of leaving. Talking about signing players for 2018 when, even he doesn't have a contract.
A great move. He made an informed decision. He wanted him but would not be bullied into Hayne's bull$hit.Agree (not about the babies bit). So BA basically said he is rock solid to his playing group and would not match the Tits offer if it meant that the core group would have to be broken up.
From the sound of him, I'm not even sure he was that keen on having him.. like it would have been nice, but not necessary, you know?A great move. He made an informed decision. He wanted him but would not be bullied into Hayne's bull$hit.
Ahmm. He took a pay cut to go to the NFL.
A massive pay cut. Then earned f**k all for his stint in rugby.
Get your facts right please.
Spoke to a mate of mine who is a marketing guru. He stated that post football Hayne assuming he wants to stay in League has lowered his brand and more importantly his credibility by leaving Parramatta.Beavis confirmed he had 2 calls from Peter Sharp with contract offers, obviously he didn't put it in front of JH because it wasn't in writing. How hard would it have been for Butthead to say , put it in writing to me asap so JH can be informed
What a pack of sh*t these player managers are, after listening to the interview with BA , maybe we didn't suck up to the 2 of them as much as they thought was needed
Still don't think JH has really understood what he has done to his brand and reputation
umm... no.... where the hell did you hear that?he took a gamble on the NFL if it paid off and he became a success he would have earned massive coin, far more than he could ever get in league their top players get 100 mil a year
It's called plausable deniability.he didn't put it in front of JH because it wasn't in writing. How hard would it have been for Butthead to say , put it in writing to me asap so JH can be informed
umm... no.... where the hell did you hear that?
Andrew Luck (QB for the Awesome Indianapolis Colts) is the Highest Paid NFL player, who just signed a deal for $23.2 Million a year.
Kinda shy of 100 mil.
My wife passed away on the 3rd July after fighting pancreatic cancer for 3.5 years.
Don't really have the mood for much anything, not even parra.
I feel that life is a bit aimless now. But don't worry. I believe life is a series of tests and if you take the easy way out, you will need to go through it again
There's no doubt that the earning potential even for a so-so NFL player absolutely shits on anything RL or RU can offer.you're right i was looking at the total for a six year contract and thought it was per year
still a lot more than league and there is sponsorship on top of that
exactly, a well performing, balanced side is better for the club than a single big name signing, the novelty wears off eventually, but with a complete squad, you have consistent results for years, that's worth more then a few extra bums on seats in the short term.Yesterday I was shattered and utterly disappointed in Hayne. Would love to have watched him in action for us again.
But surprisingly I am okay with it today. The more I think about it and then see Arthurs comments, it is a real gamble to pay one player that much, and not sure it would have been a good idea. Great for the fan, memberships and sponsors etc - but not good for the balance of our side. Good luck to him. I have moved on.
ON HIS first day at Titans training, new recruit Jarryd Hayne has made the shocking claim that he had to ask Parramatta to make him an offer.
Having signed a deal worth $2.4 million to join the Gold Coast until the end of 2018, angry Eels fans have accused Hayne of being money hungry.
But the former NFL and Fijian Sevens rugby stars tells a different story.
Having been inundated with interest from rugby and NRL clubs, the 28-year-old had not heard from the Eels.
While there had been casual conversations, Hayne had formal offers sitting on the table from several clubs but nothing from the Eels.
Hayne revealed on Thursday that he had to call the club and ask them if they wanted to make him an offer.
“I’m just as frustrated (as Eels fans) that it couldn’t get worked out,” Hayne said.
“They’re obviously upset.
“Some don’t know the full story to the full extent. They’re obviously reacting on what they see and read.
“They’re emotional and so am I. “
“I had to ask,” Hayne revealed before hitting the paddock for his first training run with the Gold Coast.
“They offered me a contract when I asked. I’d been unemployed for about a month. I’d been knocking back offers for that long waiting for theirs.
“If you have to call someone and ask, it’s not a good sign.
“I waited as long as I could and did what I could.

If true you think someone from the club would have called Hayne or beavis Butt head to expalin the situation.Anyhow, if Hayne was to go
Yeah ok!! Doesn't he read the papers and see we currently have a management problem ?
If it wanted to come, he would have waited.
Gee look at Norman, its obvious we can't finalise his deal yet and he had a good offer from the dragons on the table. But he choose to wait!!! As he wants to be an eel !!
