If there is even the slightest bit of truth to hayne affecting our teams attitude then the rest of the team are mentally piss weak .... he was a big influence before cos he was the main man - now he is just the late blow in, no one should be heavily influenced by him

I think the players at our club have, for a long time been mentally piss weak going back to Brian Smith coming in. All of our successful seasons but finals chokes are proof of that and it has just continued and eventually spiralled out of control.

Hayne coming in and the media attention on us and him is just a good excuse to fold like we have done as a club continuously for 2 decades!

Like i have said before, any player who wouldn't run through a brick wall for BA should be out on the street. The shit he put up with and the way he protected those players in 2016 (and now this year) demonstrates mental toughness that our players just don't have and clearly hasn't rubbed off.

I know the season isn't over and i am not stupid enough to think that we can't still make the 8 but i would not be surprised in the slightest that players would use Hayne coming in as an excuse not to put in.

He may also not be putting in as much as some would like but if these guys were in the real world and in real jobs they would see that this is not unique to them and you just need to get on with it........the difference is that these guys are playing for fans who pay their hard earned money.............in a normal job you are generally working your ass off to pay for someones yachts............

Nobody is doubting that BA is loyal, tough, and was inspirational during the 2016 season. He is a good coach on many different levels. But isn't it just remotely possible, even just a tiny weeny tincy wincy little bit possible that some of his tactics and some of his recruitment decisions have been less than perfect? Or is it always the players fault?

I suppose it might be just a tiny weeny tincy wincy little bit possible. Maybe.

I'm not saying BA is perfect but there is a pattern with the players at our club and it has been going for 2 decades. It is the culture imo.

Hayne didn't come for big money so it's not like he is being overpaid and we certainly needed a replacement for Semi.

Evans was a fair signing too, he was the size we needed and also wanted an opportunity as he was stuck behind some pretty damn handy representative footballers at the Roosters.

BA is also hampered by saving money in our football department, we know this as fact do we not?

Having issues with tactics i am onboard with, i sometimes am frustrated too but at the same time when i see performances like the second half of the Panthers game and the lack of even turning up at all in the Manly game i just don't get why they aren't playing for the coach. They certainly turned up in the trial and in the first 30 minutes of the Panthers game.........

The attitude has been poor, that is the part that i don't understand!

So if you were provided with an example of Arthur not blaming the players after a loss you would agree it's not 'always the players fault'?

I think it’s also complacency.
I think from the trial against the knights we gained a lot of confidence along with everyone backing us to have a big year.

Being brought back down to earth during the first 3 rounds may not be such a bad thing... but in saying that we definitely need to start winning and making our discipline priority number 1.
If we defend well and allow our halves to do therenthing in attack we beat the tigers and hopefully gain some confidence and go on a run.

Every team shits themselves from time to time. For the teams with the most talent it happens less often (obviously) but when it does, the best coaches (maybe all of them) blame the players, like Bellamy did last night.

I liked the signings of Hayne, evans and t rex. Moses kind of counts too.
Not yet ready to call them bad signings. I will wait till rnd 12 and judge.

And if you were provided with such, you would agree that sometimes the coach can make mistakes? It's okay to criticise the coach from time to time you know. It really is. And it's okay if he makes mistakes. Doesn't mean he's hopeless (he's not) or we hate him (we don't). Just means he's human like all the rest of us. I, for one, (though I'm sure I speak for others) am quite happy to fully support a coach who makes a
few mistakes. But I do have the right to point them out as I see them. That"s part of being a fan. Hypothesising about what changes I would make if I was the coach is a little game us fans play. It's fun. It's part of what football forums are all about. Haven't you got that yet?

So, over a period of twenty years our 'culture' can remain consistent? With complete changes in personnel; six or so different coaches, totally different players, complete overhauls in the board. But our 'culture' can remain consistent over twenty years? Think of your own workplace. Is that even possible?
