All well and good but surely it's up to the new coach as to whether he wants him.....Dean Ritchie on NRL Tonight said that Arthur wants Hayne next year and Hayne wants to stay. Reckons he'll sign for another year.

That was about 18 months before he left.. or maybe 16 months before.I reckon we lost him when that s**t hung him out to dry. She put him on the guilty list (while trying to make out she wasn't). I think he knew then he was going.
And? He still had a contract to fulfill. One that he said he would honour. That was about 18 months before he left.. or maybe 16 months before.
I was just commenting that everyone knew he was leaving nearly 18 months before he did. It wasnt the scoop T Boon kinda claimed. And? He still had a contract to fulfill. One that he said he would honour.

Pretty sure he had been upgraded before the DV case. I’m as critical as anyone of the club but there is no way you can blame losing Semi on club.I mean I knew we were playing our cards extremely badly about 18 months before the DV stuff happened.
Ping @hineyrulz. Someone has hacked your account and started posting sensible things.Pretty sure he had been upgraded before the DV case. I’m as critical as anyone of the club but there is no way you can blame losing Semi on club.
Blame his shit taste in women.

You are part of the retention committee? ... im not, so i dont really know what is going on other than the sometimes unreliable news reportsI just clearly remember there was an opportunity for us to buy Semi's loyalty to the club and we chose to just keep him on a cheap contract. Semi would have kept that in the memory bank. It was short sighted.
Who knows, probably he would have gone anyway.

Is this the kind of loyalty you’re referring to?I just clearly remember there was an opportunity for us to buy Semi's loyalty to the club and we chose to just keep him on a cheap contract. Semi would have kept that in the memory bank. It was short sighted.

That's how I see it too.The club did pretty much all they could with Semi. He would have bailed earlier IMO but we dug our heels in (and rightly so).
Hasn't he already moved clubs in French rugby for more coin?
Is that a blight on his character ?Hasn't he already moved clubs in French rugby for more coin?
No, not at all. I mentioned it in the context of the conversation which was about the circumstances of his leaving. The problem is with some of these players (not necessarily Semi in this case) is that they say things like I would have loved to stay or something similar, but their actions are totally contrary to that. Personally i wouldn't think twice if a player just came out and said, yes, I left because of the cash. But they never do.Is that a blight on his character ?
