The best thing about last night is that Jarryd would have felt a sense of achievement that he hasn’t felt for a while.

it's a shame he has lost a bit of his speed, otherwise he wouldn't have to rely on the rest of the merkins who aren't up to his level

We also don't know if he is currently restricted due to the leg injuries he has had this year. He could still have more speed left in him but needs to get further away from the injury to really stretch out.

I thought last night was the quickest he'd looked for a while........

Will be interesting to see (if he is signed for next year) whether he can get fitter and regain some speed. He still looked slow on Friday. However if he gets into shape he can still contribute.

I saw some quote yesterday that this week he is finally running without pain.

Thats great, hopefully this is the kind of performance we can expect in future. If we can get another couple of season like this out of Hayne then surely one of them is going to result in a bag of wins.

I was a huge critic, but he’s been in good form since his hip injury.

Who knows what he could of produced had he had a full preseason under his belt.

If his form continues I’d be happy for him to stay beyond this year if he’ll resign for a reasonable amount. (4-500k)

If this form continues I'd be happy to pay him a lot more than that.
What I would do is offer him big one year contracts so for 2019 offer him $700k with an option in the clubs favour which if we exercise he gets $800k.

I don't think he has the speed, work ethic, or endurance to play at either 6 or 1, imo.

However, he's still a dynamite runner of the ball, and still has silky smooth skills. He's a great contributor at centre, imo.

I'd love for the legend to remain an Eel.

Are there any No6s in the NRL that are faster? Even coming back from injuries he would be one of the fastest.
I tend to agree regarding fullback. I wouldn't waste him doing a lot of the traditional FB jobs.

My doubt about him as a No6 is his game management skills. I have doubt he really has any and I dont think he is prepared to throw 20 out the back passes per game that coaches need the 6 to do now.
