It does sound ridiculous but you don't get put on air unless you have something decent to back it up.

If you rang up and made up some story about Inglis they wouldn't just put u on live radio.

Its triple m though they would put anyone on air for the sake of it.

Gronk. I think he knows that the premiership window is coming for the Eels. He acts like a moron but he isn't stupid. Don't forget Bernie Gurr is coming and he knows plenty about what makes a successful team and business. Maybe he thinks Hayne will add to that.
The premiership window is only coming for the Eels because Hayne f**ked off and we got to spend his salary money on a range of other players to improve the squad as a whole.

If Hayne comes back, it would jeopardise that. Max mentions in the article that we would have had to cut two players to take Hayne back. That itself jeopardises our premiership window.

I'll stick with what Max said. It will be the coach's decision whether we want to make an offer to Hayne to come back after his Titans contract expires in 2018. And it will be up to Hayne whether he accepts the offer or tries to lie when knocking back that one too...

THE MOVE

HAYNE is not easily rattled but the decision not to return to Parramatta when he returned to

Australia became the most emotional he has made.

He feels he had little choice and that it may yet prove a blessing due to the rising tide

of performance and optimism of the Titans.

That he is looking to buy a house on the Coast is a statement of his contentment.

He was so uncertain of his future the day he made his decision in a Gold Coast cafe his first

move after it was to go and buy clothes and a hotel room for the long stay, which seemed uncertain earlier in the day.

“I came up here two or three times. I really liked the good vibe. The Titans was the furthest from a rivalry Parra had with all the teams.

“I was supposed to fly up to the Coast on Monday but I said ‘there was no point ... I am going

to Parra. But I heard Parra would not have a contract ready until Tuesday that was when I

flipped. I had been here for three weeks and they were putting me off. It was not my fault or

Parra’s fault. Just the situation they were in.

“So I just went the airport and luckily a lady at Virgin knew who I was and I just produced my

credit card and got a ticket and went to the Coast and I met with Bec (Gold Coast Titans chairwoman Rebecca Frizelle) and their presentation was awesome.

“But I was up-front. I said, ‘I want to go to Parra ... that is where my heart is. If that does

not happen I am with you.’ They were great.

“I was rattled. I said to Beav (manager Wayne Beavis) ‘What is going on?’ and he said Parra

were struggling with the salary cap. I love Brad and the guys. It was the most emotional decision I have made.’’

=========================

Sounds like there was an offer and acceptance with the Eels, however a) the Tits blew him away with cash and b) his manager talked him over the line.

From the presser

“There was nothing on the table. I know there was speculation last night that they’d come out and tabled an offer but none of that got brought to me formally.

“It was disappointing. I sat down with Brad and we spoke about the future. I always saw myself at Parra.

“I guess with the way that things have happened there, from a business and a board point of view, that’s obviously affected the club in ways to make me make a decision to come up here.

“Not in my wildest dreams I ever thought I would be up on the Gold Coast.

“A part of me is sad because I’m not going to go back to the club that I grew up with and loved as a kid.

“At the end of the day I wanted to play footy this year. The way that the [Eels] board is - the way things have gone this year, couldn’t get something done, it’s sad and it hurts me just as much as I know it hurts the fans down there.”

So after all the pushing, shoving, denials and pig squealing - you just took the more money offer. We'd all do the same Jarryd, it's just that you didn't have the kahunas to admit it.

Agreed Gronk, instead of making up BS stories and putting down a club he claimed to love he could of just told the truth. That he wanted to play this year and the Titans money was waaaaay to much to knock back. While disappointed most of us fans would have accepted his reasoning and probably done the same thing themselves.

Hayne and his manager obviously thought they could pull one over on the punters, and keep his "brand" intact.

How wrong thery were.

His form was so ordinary that Hayne wasn't even picked in the Kangaroo train-on squad / PMXIII v PNG, and couldn't be arsed putting his hand up to represent Fiji in international games during this off-season - despite being willing to play Rugby 7s for them...

The only way Hayne can stay in the headlines in the off-season will be to try and rebuild the damage he did to his brand this year.

I note the article says that he's not ready to discuss his reactions to becoming a parent... yet. Look out for the megabucks women's magazine exclusives, while this coward and his manager milk the media for whatever they can get. Worse than Lara Bingle...

That may very well happen, but last press release the Tits made was that Hayne and the girl he impregnated were just friends. I think Puddin has some work to do before they are even officially a couple.

Maybe Beavis is working on a reality TV series.

The sad thing is all that extra money he got at the titans probably would have been made up in the long run anyway if he returned to parra. With his clothing brand and legacy. Now no one in western sydney wants a bar of him and has become a running gag about his dreams.

Its quite sad that he will be remembered as a traitor and that cause he was a great player to watch. And not being around in the sterlo days been the best parramatta player i have seen play.
