What if his new dream is to win a premiership with Parramatta.

Who gives a shit what his dream is? I have dreams of us winning a long overdue premiership and those dreams don't include a Sopwith Camel in a tail spin. My dreams may or may not be realised. That's what they are..............just dreams.

Settle down. You just said that you hope he realises his dreams.

It's sunday, I've spent 7 hours cleaning up the place in preparation of selling up and am now relaxing with a couple of cold beers. I also I have to work tomorrow in a job that's dissimilar to those on here who can go for it 24/7. I can't be totally held responsible for what I say, but I'll accept 85% responsibility at this point. But, your observation is a correct one. I apologise.

Rest assured. He's not coming back.

I agree we don't need Hayne. And his performance and attitude has been terrible!!

But if he is offered to us for the right price that is suitable to our cap (for me that's $500k) and BA, I reckon he is worth the risk.

On his day, he is a freak!!

We have a pretty solid squad which could go close in the next 2-3 years and truly believe the motivation for Hayne to win the comp with the eels may really push him to the next level!

I believe BA is strong enough to control his personality.

Jarryd Hayne v Neil Henry: Now is time for Titans to show they stand for something
Robert Craddock, The Courier-Mail

August 13, 2017 7:00pm

IF THE Gold Coast Titans sack Neil Henry and let Jarryd Hayne stay they will officially become a club that stands for nothing.

If they both go at the end of the season — and that’s a decent chance — then so be it.

But if Henry goes and Hayne wins the war before shooting through to another exotic location at the end of next season you might as well shut the doors.

If you let a flighty superstar dictate team culture then, sorry folks, it’s all over.

There is no culture.

No future. No hope.

If you disagree with this, try calling the seven (mostly exasperated) senior coaches Parramatta had in seven years when Hayne was their star player. They have had just one in three years since he left.

It’s a tricky situation for the Gold Coast board because it’s a lot easier to sack a coach on around $350,000 than it is to move on a player guaranteed $1.2 million for next season.

But you can’t have a senior player fragmenting the club.

It’s not all Hayne’s fault that the Titans have had three bad losses in a row but what is beyond dispute is that the whole vibe of the joint has changed since he got there.

It was always a dangerously odd fit — the team of hard-nosed scrappers who played for each other aligned to the millionaire butterfly floating through town on a journey to everywhere and nowhere.

At the start of last season the Titans were just about the shortest-priced wooden spoon favourites ever yet scratched and kicked and clawed their way into the finals in a performance that was as bold as you could get.

In even earlier times with the likes of Mark Minichiello, Luke Bailey and Anthony Laffranchi providing the grit and grunt, the Titans once radiated a bare-knuckled unpretentiousness that was easy to like and hard to beat.

That resolve, which flared again so impressively last season, has suddenly melted.

This is not to say Henry does not have lessons to learn.

People who know him far better than I do say his inflexible bearing of the schoolteacher he used to be can be a drawback.

One of Wayne Bennett’s great skills over the years has been to somehow conjure the best out of players whose talents need nurturing that might not come from the textbook.

Hayne is not a great trainer.

Neither was Steve Renouf.

Broncos players still talk about naming an area the Steve Renouf Hill where the great speedster would occasionally be seen sitting during marathon training drills. But Bennett somehow made it work.

Collingwood have not been the same since Mick Malthouse left as coach and a whole group of quirky talents were either pushed out or retired.

They were a rough and ready group but somehow Malthouse squeezed a premiership out of them with the key being that, for all their foibles, he got them to put the team first. It sounds simple.

Sometimes it can be harder to do than catching a butterfly with your bare hands.

If from here on in, if Hayne was ever going to take Rugby League seriously , he has only one choice and that's to give Craig Bellamy a call and beg for a spot under his coaching at the Storm. That's his only chance of actually reaching his full potential.

D-Day as Jarryd Hayne hauled in front of Titans board to explain fallout with coach Neil Henry

Tom Sangster and Michael Carayannis, The Daily Telegraph
August 13, 2017 4:44pm

JARRYD Hayne faces D-Day on his NRL future, with the outspoken $1.2m man to be hauled in front of Gold Coast Titans executives to explain a “demoralising” fallout with coach Neil Henry.

Hayne sensationally claimed after Saturday’s loss to St George Illawarra that he is willing to walk away from the club if Henry does not want him, describing their recent relationship as “weird”.

In a fiery aftermath to Gold Coast’s fourth consecutive loss, Hayne said he would speak with his manager Wayne Beavis this week to explore the possibility of cutting short his stay at the Titans.

“I don’t know, up until this week I thought the (relationship) was all right,” Hayne told The Daily Telegraph. “If his opinion has changed from what he told me then that’s for him. For me I will talk to my manager during the week to figure it out. If he doesn’t want me here then I’ll move on.

“It’s not one of those cases (where) I’m sticking out. If someone doesn’t want you there and it’s clear as day I will move on. He is the coach.

“He hasn’t spoken to me this week. It is a little bit (weird).”

Hayne’s comments followed reports Henry didn’t want to sign Hayne last year because his massive price tag would upset salary cap balance, but was compelled to by the board.

The Titans’ form has slumped horribly since Hayne’s signing, dropping to 14th on this year’s ladder after making the top eight last year.

“The Chair and CEO of the Aquis Gold Coast Titans will tomorrow (Monday) meet with Neil Henry and Jarryd Hayne to seek further explanation of recent developments and determine the appropriate course forward,” the Titans said in a statement on Sunday afternoon.

“These distractions are demoralising to our entire playing group, members, sponsors, and everyone who supports the Titans.

“The issues involved must be addressed in the best interests of the clubs future.

“CEO, Graham Annesley, will be available to the media after the meetings have taken place tomorrow (Monday).”

Hayne is also racing the clock to be fit to play his former club Parramatta on Thursday after leaving UOW Jubilee Oval in a moon boot.
