Poor decision. Tuqiri has been ok, but nothing special this year IMO.

If he played for any other club, he wouldn't have been brought in. Sheens will have his favourites I guess.

Form winger( along with gordon, perrett, Nightingale) of the last 6 weeks of the NRL competition and finals. Plus having experience and playing with lockyer, tate, civo, farah and lawrence would have given him an advantage. Also his combination with Lawrence may have swung selectors to go with that combination on the left.

lote will be good when he comes against The Beast, and im not sure about england. But lote is a pretty good choice to pit against vatuvei.
BTW isn't he the first Triple international (league rep, then union, then back to league) now? thought i heard that somewhere. Could be wrong

Apart from Gordon, I'd have Tuqiri before any other back.

Disappointing that Gordon got overlooked.
I'd have him on the wing over Boyd, Morris, Lawrence, Tate and Tuqiri.
Most boring Australian side ever.

I have heard either Dugan or Croker are likely to be called in, don't know how accurate that is though.
Lol, Raiders players can't even get rep call ups unless they become a coaches love child, or abuse the pity of the selectors for a massive finals choke, maybe you should've included Joel Monaghan as well, a lethal combination of Choker and Monaghan would be the most pitiful thing to grace the representative level.

it almost sounds like you were agreeing with this rumour?

I believe either of those would have been the best choice based on who is available, yes.

However it seems the rumour was nothing more than the Canberra Times getting overexcited.

A specialist winger to replace a fullback?

Well I guess that's in keeping with his first grade selections at the Tigers.

Hang on a winger to replace a fullback? I'm lost. When did Slater pull out of the Australian team? I thought it was Hayne who is the Australian winger who pulled out??

You really don't need another specialist fullback in the squad though.

Not with Boyd, Kidley and even Carney there.

Croker should just feel lucky he made train on.

Who else should get it?

Michael Gordon can consider himself unlucky possibly Akuila Uate too...but I'm more than happy for Tuqiri.

I'd be surprised if he got a game. For that reason I would have preferred Gordon got the call-up. He's a young talent and the experience of just being there would arguably have a bigger impact on his development as a player than Tuquiri.

Either way though I'm not fussed. I love watching Lote run around and there's no doubting his talent
