to a dodgy Russian or Chinese gazillionaire ?
There's something just a bit fishy about all this.

IMHO NRL finally got something right if they are serious about Rugby league having much future... If they want to stay in Gold Coast they badly needed something like this... and a premiership there.

Gold coast is one of Australias' premier tourist attractions .A strong team there gives the code exposure to many holiday makers and Hayne is an Ideal ,marketing tool as well as increasing the teams chances of success. To just continue letting Titties bounce along they may as well just forget it.. They need support.

Downside for Sharks, is that the window for us to win is getting smaller ... Please Just win it this year .

Cannot see your logic, everyone who goes on holidays to the Gold Coast still follows their own home teams, inlcuding all those Chinese tourists , a Gold Coast team will be supported by its residents provided there's an expectation that they're capable of winning more than they lose.

Another issue is the price of the tickets. I was up there a few years ago and even in the nosebleeds he tickets were ridiculous. Small wander the crowds dry up entirely when they're going poorly.

You are probably right I just thought country people who are at GC for holidays have a looser grip on the purse strings. They can plan a holiday around when their team is versing titties. If its a spectacle- big crowd with marquee players- could be highlight of a holiday.OS tourists might be more inclined to see a match with a player who was also an NFL player... All speculation of course however the crowd size at the weekend did indicate Hayne peeked some ppls interest.. I also know that a lot of country people used to holiday at Gold Coast.
