Let him play this year as there is no way he would be in peak fitness to play first grade rugby league. Especially after being conditioned to play in bursts.

Been watching a bit of Fox today and the one thing that comes across about Hayne is he's a one man highlights package V the Sharks.

It's those Fijian Sevens that you've got to watch closely.

How long did Hayne hang with those badass dudes.

Don't believe that rubbish about the benefits of special coconut milk sports drink.

I saw a try he scored against us on the news
He ran past the who's who of former dead wood.
Ayshford
Robbo
To name a few.

Mooney was able to have some luck in getting players who did not want to leave Sydney but were not wanted at their current club for one reason or another to build solid competing teams - Fifita, Carney, Ryan, Heighno, Barba, Beale, Lewis who were all moved on for one reason or another while under contract. You see even with the Farah situation he had no interest in moving to Newcastle despite Newcastle needing a 9 and Farah needing a team.

I like Mooney and feel he did an outstanding job in rebuilding us but he had some misses over the years when it came to fixing our biggest needs - Ayshford, J.Wright, Eric Grothe Jnr, Mitch Brown in the open market. Who did we land in free agency in the past few years? Ennis (Didn't want to leave Sydney), Gordon(wanted to play FB), Robson(Solid) and Bird(we offered an NRL deal vs a 20's deal at the dragons). He has a real skill for getting others to pay for his players though which cannot be understated(The fact the Broncos are paying Barba this year for us is amazing) especially for clubs with limited 3rd party deals.

Basically he has taken on a similar cluster f**k but with a harder location to pitch. Will be difficult without developing some stars.

to a dodgy Russian or Chinese gazillionaire ?

That would be about it.

Who in their right mind would want to buy a football club to burn their money away?

Private ownership model is very unpredictable and relies on a fanatical supporter not minding to throw $100 notes out of their office window.

Maybe in the great tradition of Surfers and the Gold Coast in general, they will be sold off as a 'Timeshare' property? Everyone who invests gets to run the club, but you can only do it for about 5-7 days a year and never at a time convenient to you.
