As I said, not sure about NRL level.

As far as I know, in local leagues, you could be out of the game for 15-20 years, a clearance is needed from the last club you played at.
Not denying that regarding local leagues, but NRL ? Yet to see anything that concrete in this regard.

The difference is the complex legal contracts used to in the NRL player/club/NRL agreements. I think we'll just take ECT's word, he seems to think he's an expert on running the game.

Well, the policy is the national policy, written by the NRL themselves. There is no clause that says the NRL is exempt from it. There is no scope for associations to just ignore it or change it. There are some laws the NRL can wriggle on because they include clauses that give associations the right to alter certain rules or procedures. But here is nothing in this one that mentions that. No contract can subvert the rules. Registration rules don't impact it. There is just nothing that would suggest the NRL can allow it unless they just decide to ignore the rule or change it as a one off exception. When the NRL gives an explanation that makes no sense and does not address how the rule can be circumvented what can you do?

So your saying the NRL have acted illegally, because they chose to do so?

Any proof or just your 2 hr bush lawyer course and a good' ol gut feel to base this on?

We're on the same page.

Ok I said it before and I'll say it again. The June 30 deadline does not apply in this case because Hayne hasn't played for the Eels in 2 years. The rule clearly says between November 1 and June 30 in the same season. I believe even Todd Greenburg has said this

Looking forward to seeing how he goes. Good to have a player of his calibre back in the back be it not at Parra. Just wished he signed with GC and didn't open his mouth it would've been a lot easier for him in the press

Can't wait to watch the Hayne return. Should be huge.

Anyone backing a try?
luckily it is on fox sports if he does. Otherwise the commentary box would overflow with jizz and attack the innocent crowd like the blob from the old horror movie

Lost so much respect for Hayne over the past six months. Will not be watching any of his games.

What can you do ?

Accept that they bent a rule to allow a star player back in the comp, which is clearly for the benefit of the comp, and accept that whilst you may not agree the with decision, it wont be changed.

What not to do ?

Throw your toys out of the cot.

I think ECT should be just about ready to pick them up.
