Issue with hayne isn't just that he doesn't provide bang for his buck, it also reduces the quality of depth that the titans can afford with him taking so much of the salary cap.

Also affects the blokes that do get signed around him that are basically cheapies but still bust their ass while watching a show pony getting paid 3 times as much half assing it and chucking tantrums

Even though Hayne is not living up to his paycheck, surely his popularity has significantly increased the Titans membership base and the amount of bums on seats.........not quite.

Titans 2016 - 10,106 members and 13,806 average crowd
Titans 2017 - 10,883 members and 13,211 average crowd (to date)

I think he served a purpose at the time. Titans had the whiff of death around them and needed a good news story badly to right the ship. His high profile signing sent out a statement that they were there for the long haul and that things would get better. Should have signed him to 2 years then let him go if not performing as you would expect a top tier salary player to perform.

Could those figures show the memberships may have increased because of the Hayne Promise and the crowds may have dropped due to the Hayne Disappointment

It was his dream to drag Titans memberships down.

I truly believe his heart is still at Parra and it probably has bearing on his performances. He was an Eels junior through and through and loved the club. Imagine yourself changing teams even as a viewer; you wouldn't have the same love for the game.

Except when he was a Wests junior. You must have missed him when he kicked the field goal against the Tigers last year and proclaimed that Campbelltown Stadium was "His house".

But.....you can have him.
