Hayne the equal of Kenny

A few other things need to be considered in the comparison - the 5metre rule, compared to the 10metres now.

Plus, Hayne's impact has only really been over a 6 month period so far.

I dont think I have seen anyone else in the game with a swerve, quite like "The Kenny Swerve".

At the end of the day, both players were/are very exciting to watch. As I mentioned in a previous post - I wouldnt swap JH for anyone else at the moment!

, you commented on Wally Lewis. It took me a long time to realise why I hated him so much at the time. It was because he always had the big play for QLD and seemed invincible. It wasn't until much later that I realised that all that time I had been hating a player when in fact I had had been witnessing a champion.
How well said.. I thought the same about Kenny as well as Wally. Ask me in 10 years from now if i thought the same about Hayne.

Geez, Murray Bros, that brought back a flood of Saturday night memories LOL

Yep and the cafeteria at the back of Coles where you could get a great feed for loose change. I remember as a kid wandering around Nock and Kirbys on my way to the paper shop in Parramatta Mall where I would buy the Daily Mirror for sixpence so I could get the cupon to collect that years footy cards.
Moby Dick Thornett
Thirsty Ron Lynch
Dave Irvine (God he was fast)
Ron Graham
Brian Winney
Joe Turski
Len Stacker
Barry Rushworth
Paul Gibson
Keith Campbell
Barry Leaney
John McMartin
Mal McMartin

Does anyone remember the year Parra went on a spending spree after the annual City Country match and purchased,
Laurie Wakefield Fullback
Terry Scurfield Winger
Graham Lye 5/8
Dennis Mount Goal Kicking Prop Forward.

Or the hype surrounding the purchase of the "Next Ken Thornett" Bland Lyles from NZ? Didnt quite work out that way did it.

Ahhhhhhhhh ..... Memories.

I remember the Coles cafeteria! My mum would drop in there and have lunch on shopping day. And Nock and Kirbies. Mick Simmons. My uncle used to work at Mick Simmons. He got me a Rugby League ball that was signed by Ken Thornett. A real proper leather ball. Smelt great! I used to take that ball to bed with me when I was about nine years old (about 1965) and I just loved the smell of that leather! Later on when I was in second year high school, I had a paper run that started at the Church Street newsagency (is it still there?) and ended up at the Albion Hotel. (Where my mate and I conned an old fella into buying us alcohol - but that`s another story.) I used to sell the Sun and the Daily Mirror. They were both 10 cents.
Oh, and Arch Brown was my favourite player for a while. The winger from Queensland. Goal-kicking winger. When I first started playing football at primary school, the teacher asked me what position I wanted to play, and I said winger. I didn`t have a clue what a winger did, but I knew Arch Brown played wing. And all I ever really wanted to be was a goal-kicker. I used to spend a lot of time in the back yard lining up kicks. Trouble is I could never get any distance. Oh well. Kids` dreams.

Scurfield and Wakefield were Parkes boys, Denis Mount from Warialda. The came the year Ron Lynch was captain coach. I remember Thirsty physically lifting Laurie Wakefield and carrying him in his arms to the sideline at Henson Park. (when he was injured)
Terry Scurfield was picked for NSW. He was as blind as a bat. Graham Lye was an international pivot from the Illawarra.
Bland Liles had a huge side step...but really no-one could replace the Mayor...NO ONE
Paul Gibson is now the MP for Blacktown, Dave Irvine is the dad of Jess's favourite Bubsy aka Daniel. Keith Campbell was an international, and he is heavily involved in Men of League on the North Coast. Barry Leaney was at the Richmond RAAF base and was 'the next big thing' in the forwards. Remember the Jones boys, Billy (hooker) and mick a sidestepping prop. Brian Winney came over frrom St George. Goal kicking half back.
Ron Graham...a bloody champion, Bowsa Rushworth a recent addition to the Hall of Fame and a publican in Lithgow for many years.
Len Stacker coached Penrith. I think he was even a coach of a Bundy Cup side last season???

When I was in school, there was a kid called Stephen Zarss.
One day at assembly, the headmaster said, "After this assembly I want to see Stephen Zarss in my office". The whole school cracked up.

You don't mean the whole school 'mooned' the headmaster do you?
BTW -----You didn't go to school with Hindy too ?
Could be the reason as to why he has become a 'money box' man..
