Hayne will win the Dally M

I think the voting is crap anyway.
each player should be rated out of 10 everygame based on stats etc and then add them all up for the player of the year.

soward's biggest problem is he plays in a team with alot of quality players and they will steal points off him

Agree to a point, but not on stats. Stats ignore the big plays and the turning points in games and don't tell the whole story. Like Reddy's tackle on the Cronulla winger pushing him over the sideline is a big play which would not be counted in stats. Also awarding a score each week and adding them up gives a heavy advantage to players who don't miss any games due to injury. The only players who win the Dally M's are halves and hookers these days so maybe they should change it from 3 points to 5 so forwards and backs have a chance of picking up 1 or 2 points in games.

Do they still give out the Dally M? I lost track after the year where they didn't do it because of some strike or other...

yeah dally m isnt fair
If you have a solid team than its harder to win points -your better beeing a standout with good players around you...Be very hard for a melb plaeyr to win it cause 3-4 of them will always steal points of each other

After seeing Hindy and at least a dozen other players getting time on the sideline for attacking with their feet (Dangerous contact) , Soward should get 2 weeks.

(New) Dally M rules dictate that you lose 3 points for every week of suspension.

EDIT: Why didn't Thurston get any suspension for kicking the try scorer in the teeth recently ? SoO 3 I think (?)

You were not allowed to bet on it for years, and even now, you are not allowed to bet after round 16. Is betfair some dodgy off-shore agency? Or do they get around the laws because you bet other punters?

Hayne is only a chance if we win every game from here on in - otherwise, Thurston will run away with it.
Hate to say it, but, if Moanly keep winning, Orford may be a chance. Hopefully the Tiges will pull something out tonight!

"the only stipulation being that betting is closed after the award goes behind closed doors after round 16"

From the article.

Betfair are a joke, they dont even pay for the product. Typical Packer investment.

Yeah, Hayne would still be about 8-10 points behind Thurston.
