RJ I still reckon we should put him at 5/8th. Not this year but next.

FB is too easy !!!.

But as Gould says. He just sits around at fullback and watches the game. Sees a weakness in the opposition defense (e.g. injured, tired or lazy defender or an overlap) and makes a play for it, picking the right time. He loiters.

It is so Kenny like it isn't funny. His chip and chase reminds me of Ted Goodwin (for the oldies).

Sterlo used to control the play ruck after ruck. Kenny sees an opportunity and goes for it.

Hayne culd very easily make the switch to 5-8 IMO, even though he failed eailer this year he is in much better form now.

BUT atm we have better options for alternative halves (Robson, KK and Mortimer) then we have for alternative backs (move Burt or Inu fullback - Wright, TT or Etu are the replacments).

In the senario next year: If Filiga gets a go and is on fire and Inu and Tahu are playing well then I would have no problem with Hayne moving 5-8 to make was for an inform outside back. ATM thou Hayne is the best fullback in the game and It would take some guts to move him away from there.

No I wouldn't move him this year as I said !!

However, the only why it would not work is that we need a dominating Half Back for that to happen.

Atm, I still believe we are playing a dual halfback game with Morts and Robbo one each side of the field and Hayne chiming in as the 2nd playmaker.

With Hayne at 5/8th, you would need a halfback who can organize all over the park. Morts or KK may not be up to that yet.

My post was actually put there to bait RON !!! hahahahah

I never stated you said this year, I simply agreed with you that it was possible but currently with our squad (and even next years squad) it will be very unlikley. If Hayne spends his whole footy life at fullback I wouldnt complain

Guys, in regards to haynes 40/20's that is a mark of a well prepared bigtime player. If you can produce that in big games you can pretty much produce it anytime. Watch for hayne to get us on the front foot at any stage within the next few weeks. He will surely cement his place as the worlds best player in the next 2 games.

Why any year ffs? He is killing it at FB!!!

exactly
its not as if hes playing a traditional FB role anyways its all good..hes settin up tries from evrywhere..makin breaks and kicking well...i think geyer sed the number on ur bak does sometimes not truly represent ur role on the field
hayne does a bit of evrythin and coz of playin at FB on top of this enables him to use the space he thrives in

Yep, but more than that, the whole spirit of the team, went up another few cogs after the Tigers game. I can't see anything but a whitewash of the Panthers this Friday night. The Panthers don't have the will the Eels have in defense. They are a broken team and takes a lot of hard work and time to build up a powerful brick wall defense which the Eels now have.

Not one player in the Eels club is cocky or over-confident, but they are FOCUSED and DETERMINED. DA will have them refreshed, relaxed and ready to put on a performance that will blow the Panthers right off the park.

Eels 48 Panthers 8 (possibly around 60 to 8)
If a wet night 36 to 4

No need to move Hayne. He is pretty much already playing like a five eight but with kick returns. Its ok where he is, Hayne, Robson, Mortimer, Mateo and Keating, all kicking options. Burt and Inu dont have bad ones either.
