The "Heart and soul of Cronulla" is a phrase much bandied about here, especially by our younger fans.

But young or old would have to love this shot which will remind us that the Sharks have had a heart and soul long before certain other players.

Porter, Miller and Hatch in a game vs the Broncos 1989. Fantastic pic this.

So who is the heart and soul now?

Or did your beloved Chris Anderson prune them away Frenzy?

I dont know why its so hard for some people to admit that part of the club died when Deano got the axe.

Almost anyone who might have been considered the heart and soul - with one notable exception - was lost to the infamous 'sacred cow' theory of Frenzy's... ;-)

I remember that play off game well attending it 1989 Parramatta Stadium, broncos lead early before we ran all over them, somewhere i have a video tape of that match.

Blueboatboy, you say treister pride passion premership 2004, i would agree if he had lead us already to the sacred prize, but he has been at the club for so long and never gave us the title why will 2004, be so different for him, we must move forward

Yeah it was Barry Russel. He loved to run off Millers passes.

Barry Russell injured his shoulder in 88, and it stuffed his career.

It's a shame his career was so short.

Now I am old and grey and my back is weak, but at the time we had Paul Bishop, son of Tommy running around then too. he was the No 7...

If you are interested I have dropped the clipping of the game to the Sharks4eva website and they have it up in lights....

Funny thing about that game, where I live in Emu Park, on the Coast of Central Qld. I, at the time run a little Coffee Shop. I had blue black and white streamers throughout the joint leading up to the midweek playoff and to the next weekend.

Funny thing was I didn't have a customer for a week. Might of had something to do with the ad I put in the local paper. Donkeys for sale. See Quigs.

Ahh the memories.... and yes me little chin wags, No 7 = Paul Bishop.

By the way viewers I still have the video of this classic game.....I watch it when life gets me down...
