I read this morning that the held up in goal rule is going to change next year.
Instead of rewarding a scrum to the attacking team on all but the last tackle, it will be a play the ball to the attacking team 10 metres out. The tackle count will not restart, so the attacking side doesn't get penalised with another set of tackles after having pulled off a remarkable try-saving tackle.
Another change is that players will be able to strip the ball in the in-goal area to prevent a try being scored, regardless of the number of players in the tackle. Another good change.
