For those of you who are happy with there defence. Well I can predict, it is only going to get better as there confidence grows. Alot of time was spent on them in the pre season in this area, with some hesitation about the effectiveness of what was being taught by most players. But now the stats are telling the storyand they understand what was trying to be achieved during the pre season. I am excited about how much better they can get at the rate the improvement in defence is going. Stay tuned.

He's got a new name and avoids this particular forum. He and I had an altercation and he quit for a while.

He always was a weird dude, was it in real life the altercation?
He's St Brett now I have seen lol

I enjoyed the game. Had to watch it at Chatswood RSL club. Was nice to hear the entire front bar erupt when we scored the equaliser.

I enjoyed our defence, and was impressed with Dureau's kicking. I also thought lulia played well apart from getting all confused on the goal line defence. He looks to be a good prospect.

Have to say that i thought both of the disallowed trys were trys, so i think we were lucky in the end. I was happy at 12-6 tbh considering we were flogged by 50 in the corresponding game last year so hats off to the boys for a good effort.

Another thing we forgot to mention is.....

We won a game under Ben Cummins!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes as soon as i seen this i thought here we go again, then we got the first 3 penaltys and i was speechless.

It was a great game. I so wish i was there. The golden point game up here against the Broncs was heart stopping. I think a few would have stopped out there last night.

Scotty's sideline interview after the game was awesome. He really was excited and proud of you guys that were out there in the crowd. It must be good to know that the crowd is really making that kind of effect on the players

The watmough one wasnt because he was offside... he camewithin the 10 mtrs and according to the rules it was the correct call.

The Bani one was also correct.. menzies knocked it down and they picked it up and scored.. plus i dont think Lulia had any advantage really..

I have to disagree on that one Bicey. Sure, I'll take it, but we were very lucky ;-) Mullo raked the ball out of Menzies' (I think it was) hands and then Lulia/Vuna, whoever it was then proceeded to lose the ball and Bani raced away. The penalty was for the strip to my knowledge, which you would think would mean that it should have been play on because Manly ended up with the ball anyway :?

On the subject of Cummins, technically speaking, we still haven't won under him as those other 5 matches have been 80 minute matches. Saturday night's went to extra time :p

I think in the case of the Bani disallowed try, as soon as we touched the ball after it was raked out then play stopped, going back to the original infringement. Manly did end up with the ball seconds later, but there was no longer any advantage.

But yeah, if that's not the case, I'll still take it ;-)

Currently watching the game on Foxsports and the thing that I am impressed with is the commitment in defence by the boys. The covering tackle by Wes (and Vuna?), the speed off our line and way the boys support each other out on each and every tackle is a testament to this. I also like the way the boys are moving the ball around always keeping Manly guessing similarly in the kicking department (even though at times our short kicking game is inaccurate). With time, these kicks will be accurate and we'll be piling on the points.

We are finally playing as a team and not waiting for our big names to make in impact and win us the game. If we keep going about our business with confidence and the same effort, we gonna do well this year.

I like Watmough, but its amazing how often he just runs at little blokes.

Sure, its probably his job, but running wide and all that crap its a bit soft.

I guess thats why he got shown up in the Grand Final last year - he couldn't hide from the Melbourne defence who muscled up out wide.

Yeah the win was fantastic. I'm just filthy that I couldn't be there. As for Wicks vs Perry. How long ebfore they settling it in the cage? :)

Hope it's not too much longer before I get my broardband back so I can watch the game. (If only NBN showed Knights games)

Well my bro I watched the game at the golf club as my parents place in Coffs doesn't have Foxtel. Beer was good and given there wasn't many people left in the club I had to try not to yell and run laps of the whole joint when we won

We certainly know how to win again don't we! I noticed that seemed to dissappear during the latter Hagan years when Johns didn't pull something out of nowhere. Begun to reappear during the latter half of last year with some of the Kidley/Buderus efforts + a few others contributing (eg Pato)

I reckon there's a fair amount of improvement left in the side and given Manly played moderately well I am very excited at what the rest of this year will bring! Still just hoping to make the 8 though.

Also while the 10m rule is a bit of a funny one, I thought that 1st try disallowed for Manly was pretty much a try, which would have given them the win. Not complaining about us winning though :p

Wasn't sure where to post this so here it is:
MANLY prop Josh Perry and Brisbane fullback Karmichael Hunt will both front the NRL
Judiciary in an attempt to avoid one week suspensions.

Perry pleaded not guilty to a grade one striking charge for his alleged headbutt on Newcastle's Danny Wicks last Saturday.

I sure hope he doesn't use the "he ate the last donut defense."

Perry should take the week and early guilty plea.

Looks more than a one week suspension to me.
