I'm looking for any info anyone can give me on a former Cronulla player who played over here in England for Barrow back in the late sixties. His name was Gary Moreing and he may well have been only a Reserve grade player.Don't know much else about him except that he was a hooker. Can anyone provide any more - we are attempting to compile profiles of every player to have represented us over the years and I thought I might as well start with those that were furthest away.

Howdy Dave...

According to my Cronulla Sutherland Sharks Encyclopedia of Rugby League Players that some kind soul sent to me....

Your man Gary never played First grade, that I can confirm but as for lower grades, sorry mate, I can't help you.

Good luck with the profiles. Its hard work.

If I wasn't so bored with this offseason Greggie-me-boy I'd line you up for a fist beating frontier style.

For the record i'll have you know that my first appearance into this world as we know it was 1955. As my dear old dad has told me many times I am a result of one too many schooners at the Miranda RSL.

I was an accident.

did your mum drink at miranda rsl too quigs?

Dear Old mum (who sadly passed away a few weeks back - and another one to chalk up who died before seeing a lap of honour) was a non drinker.

Like her dear baby son (me) she believed that one piss head in the house is enough, and my missus likes the demon alcohol.

For your information my little chin wags, the long haired chap in the middle row next to the captain Coach Gerrard Kelly is one (very young) Peter Kelly, who went onto Canterbury and Penrith fame.

The old Quigs victimised the group 16 Reserve Grade the following year. Lucky for Kelly he had moved onto another comp... I was gunning for him.
