Yeah if we're losing players to fund this I don't get it. Bodene was excellent last year, and with Hoff & Mannering as well (and all 3 very capable of playing 80 minutes) there's little enough value in this - is he going to convert to prop?

There's two very different stories floating around here...

Excerpts from the original link posted:

FORMER Canterbury and Penrith enforcer Frank Pritchard is considering reneging on a rich deal with Hull FC for a shock move to New Zealand Warriors.

The Daily Telegraph understands the Warriors and Pritchard have held secret contract talks.

Pritchard signed with Hull for two years but was always reluctant to move to England. The deal is now in doubt and the Warriors are ready to swoop.

It is understood Pritchard’s manager, Mario Tartak, may fly to England on Monday to discuss his client’s future with Hull FC.

Pritchard hasn’t yet moved to England to live.

Warriors chief executive, Jim Doyle, was reluctant to comment on Thursday but did concede: “As far as we’re concerned he is going to Hull but, if he doesn’t, we would be interested.”

It remains to be seen whether Hull will allow Pritchard to walk away from the deal. Should Hull dig in, Pritchard may have no option but to play in Super League. Having a homesick player who is disinterested may though persuade Hull to set Pritchard free.

The Warriors would need to offload a star to accommodate Pritchard. And that player could be centre Konrad Hurrell, who has attracted some interest from New Zealand rugby union franchises.

Or there's this story: (link)

Frank Pritchard has knocked back a late and lucrative offer to continue his NRL career at the Warriors, but the test forward will honour his commitment to Hull FC.

Pritchard was released from the final year of his Canterbury contract to take up a three-year deal in the Super League. The 32-year-old finalised the three-year contract in June and will head to England to begin the final phase of his career.

However, the Warriors were hoping to change his mind and add him to an impressive recruitment drive that includes fellow Roosters fullback Roger Tuivasa-Sheck and South Sydney hooker Issac Luke. The club offered the New Zealand and Samoan international a two-year deal in the hope of adding him to an imposing pack that already includes Simon Mannering, Ryan Hoffman, Ben Matulino, and Jacob Lillyman.

However, Pritchard said he would honour his commitment to Hull FC. "I will be heading over there next week and I'm really looking forward to it," Pritchard said. "I think they are a team on the rise and I can't wait to be part of it. It's flattering that there may have been some interest elsewhere but I'm a man of my word and will see out my commitment."

Doesn't look like it's going to happen, and like others I'm not sure where we'd fit him in anyway.

Sure, but Bodene, Hoff & Mannering were some of the better forwards last year too - and they all play 80 minutes. It doesn't make sense to weaken a potentially position we're struggling in (like centre) to add to an area that is already a big strength. If there was less opportunity cost I'd be loving the idea. The only way I see this working if costing us a player is a straight swap for Bodene.

I think Packer signing with us to play home games is more of a chance of happening than this to be honest.

Just can't see this happening, why would he even contemplate coming here? I'd bet he'd be getting paid a bucketload more than what we could even contemplate offering him.

Can't see the club having Packer back under any circumstances.

Still more chance of that than this Frank Tank talk, kinda my point ;-)

Think we are all set, can't see any further additions here on in. Even if there was a signing, chances are it'll be a reserve grade/young player who hasn't touched FG yet ala that lad we signed from the Storm

Because he's a Kiwi, and Hull is a shitehole. But yeah they'd be offering tons more money, and he's said he's given his word - bloody good on him.
