Hi Guys...

Seeing that some of you have nothing better to post than to bag the Roosters supporters I figured that I ask you a couple of questions...

1) What was the outcome of the "Pappas Re-structure"?

and

2) Your thoughts on the strategy. Will it be enough to turn things around for the club?

Note: I am not bagging your club or instigating anything here. Just missed the news on the re-structure.

1. I don't really know much about the restructure because, to be honest, I don't pay attention to Administration. I'm interested in Rugby League. I wouldn't know the first thing about running a Rugby League Club, so I'll leave it to the experts. (although it remains to be seen how many we actually have) I know about playing and coaching Rugby League so that's the side that I pay attention to.
Sorry for that, I'm just sick of hearing everyone and their dogs opinions on how to run a financial and successful club, when it's quite obvious that most have no real clue.
Anyway
2. I think Souths are in a 'catch 22'/'chicken and egg' situation where opinions are slightly divided on which will turn the club around, success on field or in the back rooms.
I'm still undecided. Will wins on the paddock help the club be run successfully because of the lack of pressure from EVERYONE to change things etc., or will Souths be unable to gain real success on the field until they sort out the back room politics. Only time will tell I suppose.....

P.S. Good to see someone actually wanting to discuss a real topic in here for a change. Cheers

Thanks Ed, Just curious how the "Admin" guys plan to turn things around.

I've been around long enough to witness shameful periods of my club and witness it's rise. My fading memory tells me that it took 2 seasons of failure before the Roosters decided it was time for change.

I look as Souths wondering. I mean they have implemented change by letting Tugger go, but events that follow seem to have taken them back even further.

I was just wondering whether there was anything positive to come out of Chalmers st.

As I said, I'm no expert, but here is my opinion.

I think change is, and was, a good thing at Souths. However some decent stability can also be a good thing. give people a chance to prove themselves and when and if the prove themselves supporters/players/rivals etc will gain confidence in their ability to do their job.
I think that it was all gone about in the wrong way and changes were made for the wrong reasons. Changes were made in a hurry and nobody was able to check ego's at the door and give an objective view of what the club REALLY needed to do, and really look into it and make sure that they were making the right decisions.
Everyone panicked at a loss in a trial, and then heads started to roll and it was just chaos From there on in.
I just think it really could have been done alot better.

I can't fault that assessment. Makes you wonder though that on the surface seems so simple yet is further complicated by ego's.

Although I fear for you that time may not be on your side. With declining revenue from gate takings and sponsorship compounded with rising player salaries, time will be measured in months.

As long as wins aren't measured on one hand, I think we may be able to fix some of the other problems like gate takings and sponsorship. and only then can time be measured in seasons and hopefully one day premierships!

I think the problem we have at Souths is it doesnt matter what the board/club/ceo/coach does, it will not be good enough for some people who want to cause trouble. We have some supporters who have constant contact with Danny Weidler (sun herald) and things they say in different forums end up in the paper in the following weeks and they are always disruptive to Souths.
If we have a good year next year and by good year I mean by getting very close or making the top 8 as I dont think we can expect too much more yet, I dont think it will help Souths because these people that apparently love the club so much will still be there finding things wrong at the club and handing it to the media and trying to kill us off.
They were deathriding Piggins and his group and now that they have got rid of him, they are deathriding Langmack and Tapp.. I am not for a minute saying they dont deserve to be critisised but there is a way to do it and these clowns wont even post under there real names, they stay hiding behind the keyboard and when the club invites them to meet and put there concerns forward, they dont have the balls to do it.. They would rather critisise in the wrong places..

You're right.
It really has been a constant uphill battle for the last 13 years, and it seems that just when something looks to be going right, someone finds something to bring the club down. be it a fan or an administrator or whoever, there just always seems to be someone...

Apart from the festering pus that is News Limited, there was another reason you guys were booted.... You were not up to scratch in the boardroom, on the field or in the bank account.... You had a second chance and blew it! I'm just being honest..... IMHO I think that the best thing for you would be the Jim Beam cup and a move back to Redfern... Where are all these ppl who marched? Fair weather friends? Jim Beam cup is the answer. Then all you diehards would have somewhere to go, you could afford it, Redfern would look a lot fuller than the vortex that is Dunnys home games at SFS.... I have your best interests at heart I promise... I'm RifRaf and I care...

You wouldn't think they'd be too small when the right knocks out you with one hit. Self gratification-that's like being positive-you better go to the dictionary and find out what positive means, I don't mean looking up Scott Wilson's drug charges in 1990 either.
