They need to get their stories straight in suspensions across all of these bodies that sanction games. It would be interesting to see what they're rules are if someone commits fould play in the sevens and gets suspended...

Glenn, while sevens is IRLB sponsored, the NRL have allowed/forced their clubs to participate in this tournament. So it's not just open slather because someone else is in charge, the NRL is still associated with it. However they probably see it as a different style of sport, so it doesn't count to clear players existing NRL suspensions. So those players are still thought of as "banned" and not allowed to take part. Bad luck maybe, but if you do nothing wrong, you (usually) don't get suspended...

I recognise all of the examples raised above of dubious decisions about games counted for suspensions in the past. But you've got to serve your time, and in this case, the sevens is being held at a time when Hindy hasn't been selected for an NRL trial to clear his suspension. I'd rather the NRL etc start getting it right and consistent from now on in (for all suspensions), so everyone knows where they stand, and there's no "tricks" available to any club (to possibly use against us as well).

Exactly witty z chick.

There are two brains in the judiciary - a full one for 14 of the NRL teams, and 1/ 1 000 000 000 of a brain for the Eels.

That situation you described is a perfect example.

And how many times has an Eel been suspended for lifting in the tackle? I remember once we played against the Sharks I think. An Eel (I can't remember who) went to tackle a Sharks forward, and was lifting him to put him on his back. The Shraks player then JUMPED up and nearly landed on his head. The ref put it on report. In slow mo you could clearly see the Sharks forward jumping (I have that match taped somewhere), but - lo and behold - the Eel was suspended.
