It isn't an injury. The surgery on his ankles (both) has been needed for quite some time. It reportedly won't restrict his start to the season proper as its just a 50,000 km service. ;-)

If Hindy has done 50 000 k'ms, Vella must be due for his 1500 km service soon. ;-)
