He is completely spot on. On form Hodges is by far the best centre in the NRL and if Ricky doesnt pick him hel look like a fool.

If Hodgo said this whilst at the Roosters (when he was the best centre in the game in 02-03 before his injury) he would be criticised for being arrogant.

But instead he is being praised. Perception is an amazing thing.

Lets talk about perception once the Australian team is actually picked on form not by reputation!

Form is temporary, class is permanent.

There's a fine line between getting the right mix of both. For example, class is permanent hence Lockyer should be picked. Also, Thurston's form is so irresistable that he should be picked (most likely on the bench).

It's when people start calling for the inclusion of the likes of Inglis (too early), Bell, Crocker, Watmough (last year), Phil Bailey's selection because of his 'form' despite his lack of 'class', etc etc. I even remember Ryan Hoffman getting alot of mentions for Origin last year because of his early season form...or more specifically one off-load vs Brisbane. So you see what i mean about not getting carried away by form? Because if the selectors did, there would be 30-40 Aus reps every year.

The likes of Hodges, Thurston, Tronc and Farah are exmaple of blokes who deserved to be picked on form...

Hodges should just shut his mouth and not feed the media. Give the standard cliche "If they pick me then fine, if they dont then i will just have to play better"

exactly right Mr Saab, he should just concentrate on his footy and leave it at that.

ive never been a fan of the fact that he would always have brain explosions. he would get up and push a player or something because he didnt like getting tackled because then his jersey got dirty or another one of his teammates will get tackled and he would run all the way over to push the oppoisition off.

That is called 'cat syndrome'. A disease common amongst Rugby League players.

Other infectees include Glenn Morrison, Chris Walker, PJ Marsh, Brent Tate, Matt Petersen, Ben Ross...

That mob would be captain/coached by Luke Ricketson.

With Terry Hill as trainer and John Hopoate as CEO.;-)

Actually, not to be picking on Manly, but im sure you'll agree that Shane Dunley would make a fine hooker for this team.

Hodges could just repeat the boring cliches most players come out with, but I'm glad to see a player backing themselves. There aren't enough characters in the game.

I'm not a Broncos fan, however, Hodges is on fire at the moment.

he should without doubt be picked, i think most people can see that now, he didnt need to come out in the media and say anything...
its been a long time since hodges has had any positive press, he should just cop the good with the bad and hopefully the selectors do the right thing in picking him.

Ricky responded to Bennett after he said Hodges might not be picked for australia.
Brisbane dont need this media banter. Clubs like the Dragons are good for that...esp their coach Nathan "Chop their heads off" Brown.
Wayne is promoting his player, but he is fighting a losing battle.
