Who's saying it's anti-Broncos feelings by Stuart? It's got nothing to do with Hodges playing for the Broncos, it's got to do with Hodges rocky time at the Stuart coached Roosters. I didn't know the obvious needed to be stated on that one.

Well if the player hates the coach then he shouldn't be picked. The coach is coaching the team, he has to have a reasonable relationship with the players otherwise the it will hurt the team.

Forgive me for ignorance on this issue, but if the selectors tell Stuart that Hodges is the form centre of the competition (from the last season and a bit thanks Misty Bee - he has outplayed cooper since the start of 2005) and he will be in the centres with Gasnier, could Sticky veto them?

I heard him say last night that he would pick Cooper and Gasnier, but that's up to the selectors.

To an extent, yes. But for these one-off test matches, it would be absolutely ridiculous for a coach to use that logic.

Exactly if he had not been injured he would have been there, perhaps even at Tate's expense (though he was very good for us as well returning from injury in a side that couldn't win a game, Hodges had been great for us all season).

Doesn't matter who he plays for, he should be there on form, that goes for Thurston over Lockyer.

Again, did you actually read the article? Hodges was not quoted commenting on that issue at all.

It's a tough call. However, Lockyer is not the form 5/8 of the comp by a long way. Yet i expect he will be named there and named captain because he is the current 5/8 and captain. The day the side is genuinely picked on form, will be classified as a turning point in Rugby League. If Hodges misses out....stiff, there has been plenty in the past with genuine claims, and there will be a lot more in the future. Bennett was no different. Neither will the coach after Stuart be.At the end of the day, all coaches want the side they believe will perform best under their tutelige(spelling). I certainly won't complain if hodges makes it.....nor will i shed tears if he doesn't. Good luck to all the contenders.
