I love it when players leave our club !!!!
Some home truths come out. Here is another one to wet our appetites for I dare say a better team one day.
http://www.nrl.com/panthers-sign-mitch-rein/tabid/10874/newsid/102268/default.aspx

Quote Rein when referencing his new Panthers Club,
"It's a young team with so much potential and the training facilities are world-class, like nothing else I have seen in the NRL.

I know the following is old news (earlier this year) However it really brings the above point to roost.
The $20 million facility is designed to provide a premium training and development environment for both senior and junior players. The Panthers Rugby League Academy will boast expansive education facilities, team rooms, state-of-the-art AV rooms, a fully-equipped gym, medical facilities and recreational spaces.

Due to be completed by June 2016, the main academy building will be flanked by two full-size training fields and establish Penrith Panthers as an eminent force in the development of current and future rugby league players.

We are WAY BEHIND on the Eight ball - Who funded that ???

I thought the Dragons are also known as an NRL feeder club? Can someone fund us ?? Anyone, Anyone ??
We are a glamour club, rich heritage etc etc aren't we ???

We have two world class training facilities - Scarborough Park and the patch of green grass called the car park besides the Princes Highway - was better when Thommos was there - one lap one schooner

It's very disappointing to see how a club like st george illawarra, that i have been following since the age of 10 is performing. now at the age of 52 i can't see our team challenging for the title any time soon. How do we tend to let players go to other clubs only for them to get better whilst our club goes backwards. It will be interesting to see how many cutters players leave during next year to follow JD to Brisbane because of his attitude towards players to bring the best out of them.
A very sad supporter

1. We need a coach with "BALLS" to tell Dragons management what he WANTS and NEEDS
(players new, players retain, and facilities)

2. Club Governance Mr Gordon From WIN CORP. to take the reigns and update/instruct the board with a to-do's list and time frame to achieve those requests..

a/ facilitate the above coach requests
b/ mediate an annual dragons members forum with say 12 dragons fans/members to hear what we fans have as concerns and need and for the minutes to be distributed to all members.
c/ mediate and documents players and player manager concerns.

A Replacement Experienced Coach and Club Governance by WINCORP is the only way forward which will change our perception in the NRL market place for ALL concerned.

I really don't understand what Mitch is going on about ?

We have that $ 170 million ' state of the art ' St.Georges Park , what more could he want ?

He goes to the foot of the mountains to play with that ' hillbilly rabble ' with some clown called Guuuuul and their facilities are worth a lousy $ 20 million and he thinks he's in bluudy Disney Land .

I hate to say it Mitch , but I do believe that you have collected , one too many knees in the head !

Why do you think that there will be a huge change if WIN takeover? Bruce Gordon, his son, Sean O'Connor, the Millwards etc. already have an influence. I don't think its because Bruce Gordon hasn't had an input that we are in this position and I wouldn't bank on his increased control having the outcomes we want.

What's needed is a structure that allows fans to join the football club directly (with a one year waiting period to vote) and vote on the directors. The fact you have to belong to the Leagues Club and wait for I think its three years before you can vote is ridiculous. The fact fans have no direct input into the football club is ridiculous, my understanding is its the directors of the Leagues club (who can't be touched) are the only ones that have input.

I doubt that Gordon will do much as he does not live here. If he was a passionate supporter he would not have let the rot set in and the brand be permanently damaged and would have insisted that Mc Gregor be marched. If he holds 15% of Channel 9 why has the agreement with WIN been terminated. Unlike others I think that Millward has done a good job in recruitment. For once they have signed up 7-8 players who are up amd coming not over the hill second raters.
Mary seems too close to the players and that is probably why they have not asked for his dismissal.

I know that it sounds strange but I think that this Forum is viewed by some of the powers that be. Some of the recruitment has followed suggestions on this Forum. I do not think that Mark Coyne will muck around and play games like Doust and McGregor. He has already been quite critical in the press and being successful in business would know how to negotiate. If Doust gets any further from the action he would not have a job-Yippee!

I'm convinced of it Revival.
Have a listen to Millward's interview about the signing of the 4 Cutters players....it sounds like he's justifying each decision to this Forum.

I have to ask do you think Coyne could actually move Doust out.

Sorry to say its very unlikely.

Do you know how hard it is to remove a very subtain stain.

The only other players from the Cutters that I would like to see involved with the NRL are
Coster and Sironen. I am sure that Ian Millward could also achieve this if Havili, Lafai and Lui leave. One good thing is that we have good strength at hooker with McInnes, Havili, McCrone and Marketo. While we do not have a standout at hooker we have some good solid players. I was most impressed with Havili at the end of the year in the Cutters when he got some consistent playing time as he went from slow and ponderous under McGregor to solid, nippy and incisive under Demetriou.

And there in lies the problem , JD has gone and Mary would be his coach in first grade!!!
