Hooker Rotation

What I have always wanted is for key management positions to be allocated to the best applicant and not a job for the boys system. Millward was a job for boys appointment.

have a firm belief that you first spend time and money recruiting/promoting/retaining players for the top 17 positions. These positions to be filled by good first grade proven players. Once this is done, the next step is to consider juniors and other player on the market for fringe our reserve grade side with a mind focused on these players being ready replacements for our first grade players.

You make a good point however we are a joint venture and the Illawara half, has historically as they have continued to do, provided many quality juniors. That culture of favouring the local player, is best mmaintaine by promoting loyalty. In this Proffesional era, that requires looking after former players with talent and the same criteria should apply which is that quality must be first consideration for coaching and administration staff, but within the context of when their are candidates with equal of near equal candidacy for a role, the one who already has ties to the club including ex-players should be favoured

But some on here say Millward has done a great job assembling our squad and Mary has stated he has the squad he wanted.

Well, let's take them at their word, meaning back em and if results don't come, they will have to own that and their positions reviewed at the very least at season end

I'd ask members to keep a close eye on McInnes in the last ten minutes of each half tonight. This is the period where I believe a fresh Robson would provide an up tempo element to the attack and defence of the Dragons. It is also the period when a tired McInnes seems to make mistakes and give away unnecessary penalties. McInnes seems to be less effective when under fatigue.
Bullshit. Bring on an inexperienced kid for a burst like that, opposition coaches wake up to it and belt him. He is 2nd in line for SOO hooker and playing great footy. He is the least of our problems At v
moment

So then how is he ever going to get experience if he’s not utilised

We all know the Board members and senior management are never held accountable. If they were Mary would not be coach today and Millward would be reporting to the head coach.

Like anyone else does. Wait until your fist choice hooker is injured or suspended. But you don't drag off the states 2nd best hooker for the sake of blooding a kid for 10 minutes.
Not really, a smart club would go for the rotation which gives Robson a chance to demonstrate his skills at first grade level. He is not on big money and until he shows himself to be better than McInnes, he would not be on big money.

McInnes is our best and most active defender. He does get fatigued and costs the team opportunities and momentum when he is fatigued. We are so lucky to have a triangle player who can play back row and hooker and at a pinch I belive, like Thompson used to, he can fill in at centre in an emergency.

I just hope that he is not on his way to the Cowboys and if there still is a chance to keep him, we should do all possible to do just that. It will not be until he is gone and McInnes comes down with an injury that we will surely regret letting him go.

I just do get the hooker rotation thing at all. I am sure everyone on here would agree we could fix up numerous position on the field b 4 we worried about hooker
