I thought our first half was excellent. We really stretched the competition benchmark. The second half was dreadful though, took us 30 minutes to fire up again.

Yes for sure he will be a future champion , and the only other positive i guess was watching Chris Lawrence run down Billy Slater which such ease, i knew he was quick but jeeeeez that showed just how quick.

Looking for positives out of losing games is something we are going to have to get used to because i cant see a very bright future ahead.

any idea when we gonna see some marshall magic again? at the moment its marshall tampon
Poor comparison, tampons have a use.
1 try assist and 1 line break assist which led to a try isn't too shabby. Maybe not magic but pretty decent. What did Farah do last night. SFA. As he's done for the past month. I love Robbie but he should be copping as much flack as Benji. And what about Collis, Lawrence, Fulton, Payne, Flannigan, Harrison, Morris, Te'o. Ok I'll give Te'o 8/10 for last night's game because he f**ked up that merkin Quinn but other than that he let in his usual try, plus had a diabolical miss on Cooper f**king Cronk that led to another try. How he's getting selected is beyond me.

Its not just Spungi, its the whole team thats overrated except for Hodgo.

They all need to give their match payments to Hodgo!

Im really not that down on the boys after last night, our first 40 was superb... play like that and we a top 4 side BUT i dont know what was said in the sheds at halftime but where the f**k did we go for the first 25 of the second half ?? It was like a totally different team out there.

Our interchange bench killed us last night, Royce has gotta give that up asap !!!! I am normally the first to bag John Morris but he was brilliant last night, his defense was solid, he ran the ball & organised the boys... but he sat on his ass for dead on 40 minutes or thereabouts while Flannegan fumbled and bumbled his way around the field... explain please ? ADD to that the impact Laurie had in firing the boys up in the first half, he was huige and lead by example, sure he aint match fit BUT he made a difference and added a spark... and how was he rewarded ?? He sat for 45 mintues !! That was 2 players that were having an impact sitting on their asses for over half the game... had they been out there earlier things may of been different.

But we showed some good signs at times.

Respect to Hodgo, how loud did it get when he scored hahaha

Big fan of Laurie and agree he has a big impact - but the reason he sits on the bench so long is because he spends most of his time on the field walking around sucking in the big ones.

That may be true but he still was the spark and reason we went in 12 all at half time, he doesnt even need to play 100% to get the boys motivated... everytime he steps on the park his heart is in it 100% and the team notice it and lift... thats what he was needed for last night.

We had 66% possession, 5(?) penalties vs 2, with 5 interchange vs 2(?) by halftime, for a drawn score. We actually got beat in the 1st half. Needed to be ahead by 2 tries minimum to make it through the next 40 mins. They were just tiring us in the 1st half, and waited for our flyweight bench to kill us in the 2nd, when they had an extra 3 interchanges. The final result was quite flattering all things considered. We are still playing with Sheens' attempt at a custom-made halfback, utilities and 2nd rowers galore, lack of props, and crap defence.

It isn't just the D-structure that is failing either, they are playing the gang tackle wrestle game, and they can't make it work, except to help the opposition. It's ok in patches, but overall they are getting 3 or 4 tacklers in, getting knocked around more than the runner, and offloads are made regularly. As seen in the game, this leaves an already disorganized and lightweight defensive line short, and the attack goes in to score. I honestly think they would be better off giving away the wrestle, and employing 2xman tackles, around the legs. Not exclusively, but as the basic tactic. That is if the team size doesn't increase drastically and a new defensive coach isn't going to arrive to fix it all up.

7 missed tackles, absolute sh*te kicking game to go with that. None of those other blokes are on the coin he is and he hasnt produced for 3 years, not once.

They were playing the best side in the comp so on the surface it wasnt a bad effort. To beat the storm they had to be near perfect and the storm to be a little down on form. One thing it highlights is this present squad hasnt got the class required to beat the big sides

too true. Being allowed to get away with what they do in the play the ball didnt help either but agree our present squad struggles with the big sides.

Melbourne are a hot side, you did well for most of it, just couldnt hang on. The final score didnt reflect the effort for 60 minutes.

We have a couple of monsters at Souths but we are not rated as a "big side." Asoatsi isnt big, but he's definately chunky.

Sandow and Luke could hide in sutcase (togther), but they are two of our best.

I think it would be a mistake just to send the big guys out to bash you senseless.

I think we'll have a mixed bench.

I only saw highlights of two tries, and on both occasions Hodgo get treated like a bitch when he was defending.

The guys a legend for sure, but when someone his size his the last line of defence against guys like Inglis and Folau etc, well it's hardly fair.

Hodgo has a heart bigger than any cliche can come up with and he plays waaaaay above his weight every time, but surely some change to the defensive structure at certain times during the game to help him out, needs to be considered.

I think there were signs last night. Only 1 pass to his mother, and no passes that could only result in a falcon. A few good plays, but I still think he is trying to do too much, he is at his best when he only tries to run one play a set, but at the moment he is doing it 3 or 4 times, and is ineffective.

and he and Sheens both believe he's good enough to play as a halfback.
