Just anything generally.

What I meant was in case he has an accident (god forbid).

That is a possibility but I would say he has less chance of getting injured then any other player in the NRL over the next two year considering he won't be doing contact sports.

I think Hoppa will come back into the #1 jersey and Hayne will move into 5-8. Two years from now Roberts contract will be up as well. Tonga will be 31 but Esi and Loko are there as well as a few Jnrs coming through.

I think it was mentioned in the other thread, but the salary cap could be considerably higher in 2014 thanks to the new TV deal, so it may not be as high a percentage of the cap as 500k is now.

Reni should give him the workout scheduled he used, it worked for him at least.

Hopoate should go to Thailand for his mission. Then he can get into the Muy Thai like Reni did. It didn't take him long to get back to his best and he was 29.

Hopoate will only be 21. He'll be fine.

If they give Hoppa a job at the club theyll have to include that in the cap wont they? I thought they could only do that with third parties. I hope Schubert investigates this outrage. I bet that prima donna Hayne wont be happy about it either, Im getting on Parra for the spoon in 2014.

So hiring coaches comes under the salary cap now?

It does if they're related to a player you've just signed and its part of the deal. So I assume its not part of the deal and Hoppa will be heading up the Parramatta aeronauticas division next year, completely independent of Hoppa jnr signing.

The job for his dad is a bit of a worry, but there is a gardeners job vacant I think.

you couldn't trust that f**kwit with the lawns

So hiring coaches comes under the salary cap now?

I think if it's tied to a players contract it would be. similar to a club saying to a player if you sign we'll hire your wife as well.

It'll either be a masterstroke signing him before anyone else can get to him or a massive waste. he's incredibly talented and wont stay on the wing, however I don't think any players who have gone away for 2 year sabbaticals have ever come back anywhere near the form they were at previously

Anyone able to compile a list of 'Returning Morons' (sic)

Interested to see the success rate of players who have gone on the Mormon mission and come back.

Why would he sign a contract now for 2014 unless the money was overs. $500k is overs , makes sense to me . Appears to me Eels are backing on significant salary cap increases by 2014 , which is probably right too given new TV rights by then.

As a Manly fan all i can say is good luck to the kid!!!

I would love to have tied him up and i think he will come back a be a superstar.

That said i am happy we didnt pay 500k on him for 2014.

Alot can change in 2 years and im happy to re-invest that money in signing up Cherry Evans, Foran, Buhrer, Lussick and T-Rex long term

According to Ken Sutcliffs twitter, Danny Wielder has some info that will leave every NRL player gobsmacked (dramatic music).

Anyone know what he's on about, or is this another channel nine beat up, ala "the story that every (parent/geriatric/racist) must see" with an NRL player twist?
