Any other fans of the genre about?

Love the cheesy 80's ones like

Bloodsucking Freaks
Blood Beach
Alligator
Incubus
Friday the 13th + sequels
Elm Street + sequels
The Burning (featuring a young George Costanza)
Demons

plus anything whose title ends in "...of the Dead".

Nice call.
The remake should be destroyed at all costs. I agreed that they should remake it, as it definitely is a lost classic.

But, the remake is sooooo awful. Get the original out at all costs. To this day, it would still spook me if I watched it alone.

Product Description
Frank Zito (a career performance by co-writer/ co-executive producer Joe Spinell of Rocky and The Godfather fame) is a deeply disturbed man haunted by the traumas of unspeakable childhood abuse. And when these horrific memories begin to scream inside his mind Frank prowls the seedy streets of New York City to stalk and slaughter innocent young women. Now Frank has begun a relationship with a beautiful photographer (Caroline Munro) of The Spy Who Loved Me) yet his vile compulsions remain. These are the atrocities of a human monster. This is the story of a Maniac.Experience Maniac like you've never seen or heard it before. Directed by William Lustig (Maniac Cop Vigilante) and featuring landmark gore effects by Tom Savini (Dawn of the Dead) this notorious classic was censored all over the world for its graphic violence and remains banned in England and Germany to this day. But Maniac is more than just one of the most relentlessly depraved films of our time; it is quite possibly one of the most disturbing horror movies ever made.Features:The Joe Spinell StoryTheatrical TrailersTV SpotsRadio SpotsPoster & Still GalleryGallery Of OutrageTalent BiosAudio Commentary with Co-Producer/Director William Lustig Special Make-Up Effects Artist Tom Savini Editor Lorenzo Marinelli and Joe Spinell's Assistant Luke WalterRadio Interview with Co-Producer/Director William Lustig and Stars Joe Spinell & Caroline MunroSystem Requirements:Run Time: 88 mins Format: DVD MOVIE Genre: HORROR Rating: NR UPC: 827058102490 Manufacturer No: 1024

http://www.umbrellaent.com.au/genres/show/11 - is a good site for reissued horror

80's slasher horror is freakin' cool.......I love the dark, fuzzy quality of the films and the cheesy acting just hits the spot....I hate 1970s horror so I only want to watch anything between 1982-1996.

I scour EzyDvd and any cheap DVD stall to find killer 80s horror at a cheap price.....Ezy DVD bargain bins are goldmines.

I love:

Trick or Treat
Reanimator (all incarnations)
Demons 1 and 2

I've got a whole bunch to go through, just haven't had the time.....Fright Night, Prom Night 1,2 and 3, Bud the Chud II, etc.

not so much a fan of the old stuff, i was born late 80's tho. i have been watching horrors since i was about 10 tho and still love it. im more into the crazier/gorey "torture porn" if you want to call it that. like hostel, saw etc. but i like ALL types of horror....i can see the down side and upside to films like hostel. house of 1000 corpses is probably my most recent fave horror flick.

hated that

Slaughter High was OK

A Fright Night remake is apparently in the works.....lol

I am dying to get my hands on:

Slumber Party Massacre
Return to Horror High
Basketcase

Don't go anywhere near I DRINK YOUR BLOOD......seriously, horror has never been so disgraced by a movie of this crap calibre

I haven't seen the origin 'Hitcher' but saw the re-make recently. I wasn't that impressed. I'm guessing the original is far superior.
