Just someone who can see through the crap, and give credit to a man who has done more to develop talented Rugby League players, both ON and OFF the field than anyone else in the NRL.
Not one of the players under his control has EVER brought the game of Rugby League into disrepute. Not one of his players has left the Club a WORSE player than when he arrived.
Blokes he has recycled from other Clubs and since moved on are now some of the biggest money earners at other Clubs. eg Ian Hindmarsh, Brad Drew, Alex Chan, Daniel Heckenberg, Scott Donald, Slinto Schifoscke, Mark Tookey, Casey Macguire,
He gave Jasen Taylor a go and was fittingly rewarded. He has given Fui Fui Moi Moi a chance and he will work out OK.
Istead of bagging the bloke, the Club should be right behind him. With support, the team might just start picking up. I am one who likes to look at the whole picture. Not just what you are seeing in front of you now. I think that's comes from being passionate about the Club for a long long time.
Football to me is MORE than success on the paddock. To me it is about developing the athletes into better citizens and giving me a team I know will put in 100% effort everytime they play.
Thats just me, and if that attitude offends anyone, then stiff cheddar.

Parra Pete, most of those player left for less money and this is a fact. Something must be wrong here if they are willing to do that. I agree with Suity. I am positive you are affiliated with the club or with Smithy himself.

The first thing you need is composure and to keep your head while everyone else around you is losing theirs

Parra Pete, we've kept our head for 8 long seasons while Smith has ballsed things up! It's nice that he has developed many wonderful players, who have blossomed in frigin Raiders/Manly/Wests/Warriors/Bullscum jumpers. When Bobcat and Hodgeson were tearing it up in rep jumpers on Friday night, I was rapt that Smith was in charge of Parra!

I doubt of you know what a coach is for either, because Smith is certainly not delivering what he is employed to deliver. Smith is expendable - Smith is fast becoming useless. He is yesterday's man. He's Warren Ryan in a Ricky Stuart world. He's the Cooper S mini runing at Bathurst. He's the Holley in a fuel injected world. He's the SM58 in the digital studio. He's the whiskey and leeches in a penecillin world. He's an LP. He's a stenographer. He might even be called a blackSmith?????

I don't believe Hodgson left for less money. Nor do I believe Drew left for less. Nor Hindmarsh or Ryan. Maybe some other players did and they wanted to try and cement a first grade position - people like Mogg, Tonga Clinton etc. So far the only player I have regretted that Smith let go was Schif but back three years ago, if I had the choice of him and Hodgson I would have picked Hodgson twice over back then but not now. It is easy to look back and criticize. Plenty of other clubs have let players go and those players have gone on to bigger and better things - it is just a fact of life.

Well said. Sheilas should stick to picking netball coaches, being barefoot, pregnant and in the kitchen. Oh did I really say that.. I'm not usually sexist.
Women in football are good for washing the jumpers and preparing the afternoon tea basket... Please DO NOT TELL US HOW TO RUN A FOOTBALL CLUB.
