a couple of weeks ago people wanted manly kicked out of the comp because it was believed that they had done a deal with Orford - NOW people think it is fantastic that souths have broken the same rule not once but 3 or 4 times and have already signed Anast/ Orford/ Bell ect. How does this work, why arn't people blowing up, is souths on a different set of rules ??

As was said before is this the same as the rooster lockter issue should all of the above deals not be ratified by the NRL ???

George piggins ahs said that Anasta has agreed to terms, and there are 3 or 4 sources close to Orford saying he is ready to jump.

As a Souths supporter I have heard all this before. We usually end up getting nobody. All these supposed "done deals" could very easily be the players' managers leaking bullsh*t info to journos so as to lift the profiles and salaries of their players. As for Piggins, well he doesn't have anything to do with the Souths footy club any more (despite the media running to him every second day) so believe what you want to there I suppose.

If we do get Bell, Orford, Anasta, etc I'll be doing cartwheels but I'm not getting excited until they are announced officially.

If it is true, then yes they have. Anti tampering isn't just about signing players, it is about negotiating with players still under contract. If any of these signings take place, then the NRL MUST look at how it all came about

People have to realise that firstly George Piggins is Braiths Uncle. Ever since Braith's father passed on, George has been like a father to him. So of course Braith is going to involve him in his negotiations. It is a very hard thing for the NRL to step in here as it is family. Do you stop them from seeing each other before June 30?

As for all the other signings, they are all speculation. We have heard so many rumours over the last 6 weeks. Some will come true others will be false. There is no way that you can police the anti-tampering rule. Deals will be done before June 30 and nobody will know.
