After sitting through last night's game, I did some pondering . . . .

HOW COME we still persist with the blind side play from scrums 10-20m in from touch. FMD, how predictable and ineffective !!. Can anyone remember the last time we actually scored from this ploy that worked a treat back in '05 ?

HOW COME Iosefa still shows the arrogance of the world's greatest player when he is nothing more than penalties and mistakes. The refs get lip fatigue whenever he is on the field. All that extra whistle blowing soon adds up, you know. He needs to pull his head in, drop his ego down to the level he actually plays at . . . and accept that the rules apply to even him.

HOW COME we still seem to run 4 plays every set at the markers ?. If not at the markers, it's just one out stuff. (I thought we had seen the last of this stuff when Heino went to Cronulla. Ironically, he has now been taught to run straight, hard, and at gaps. It only took Cronulla a few months and a couple of equine Eno's to get him to change !! )
I know the theory about bringing the defense in to spread it wide . . ., but when you look at other teams they are hitting and bending the line, and always looking for support runners and offloads nearly every time they hit it up. We just amble into the markers, or even pass it one wide then turn it back inside to run at the markers. It does my head in when we keep doing it all game, regardless if we have success or not. To see the 100th run at the markers in the 75th minute . ..when the other 99 have failed miserably . . is mind numbingly dumb. If it ain't working . .try something else !. How hard is that ?
We must be the team with the least offloads. So few of us even attempt an offload.

I wasn't really expecting us to beat Manly last night . . . but when we started the game with all those sets because of Manly's poor wet weather handling . . . and we STILL couldn't put a point on them . .I knew it was gonna be a long night.

FFS, in the greatest display of irony ever . . . even the dragons supporters are laughing at us.

Mate how true,their are 15 teams hitting the line at pace and trying for second phase ball and we amble up to the line,one out,and run the same line every play.

A few years ago we would get done but at least entertain the crowd,now we are a very poor and boring side

Same game plan as 05 but Prince was the difference. Nobody of his calibre has been in the 7 since. Benji never recovered since his departure.
I'm afraid Potter has walked into a toxic environment with Sheens cronies still there.
Sack the lot and let Potter have his own selected staff.

Unfortunately WT rehired Royce Simmons before Sheens was turfed. Presume his contract is solid enough for Potter not to be able to get rid of him- either that or Potter saw something in the ESL with Simmons there that he is not and has not shown to date. I also acknowledge he is handicapped by having a squad pretty well made up of Sheens players. However maybe some of our underperformers need to be shown the door- both on field and on the coaching / support staff side of things. WT have been too comfortable for too long and need the shake up. I'm happy to realise that 2013 will be a rebuilding year but jeez I'd like us to be competitive.

How come Heighington coming off the bench can run for 144 metres, do 28 tackles and do an offload...WTF. New coach and new skills it would seem.

We had one forward run over 100 metres against the Eagles, for the Sharks, in a losing side Fifita gets over a 100, Hino gets over 100 and Gallen goes for 230 odd (what a machine).

How come we have no go forward?

I was having a look at the top four or five teams and their player rosters wondering why we are struggling so much.

With the top three teams I think only Aaron Woods could force his way into them. No other player in our team would be actively sought by any top three teams. With say teams four and five I think Robbie Farah would get a run and maybe Benji (just on reputation only).

So back to the thread, how come the Wests Tigers have spent so much money on either dud players or we don't have the money to buy better players.

How come our accountant can't balance the books the same as the Storm, Rabbits and Manly?

Our retention and recruiting has been nothing short of appalling,Potter has to take control of this issue or we will continue to struggle with the existing clown in charge of it now.
