Yeah but Emmanual sucks arse .

As if you'd think to yourself.... hmmmm I feel like putting on a bit of Tommy Emmanual.

Instrumental covers ?????
He is in the same bargain bin as Richard Clayderman.

Finally, someone agrees with me.
If there's a more irritating performer in Australia, I'm yet to hear them.

But in saying that he is bloody good...one of the best.

Yeah, he's technically good but Celine Dion's technically a good singer. It doesn't mean they both don't suck.

Dave McCormack???
Tim Rogers?
Flynn Gower???

Pfffft

Especially at the Cog guitarist, they are just f**k off pedals. Cheney is an amazing guitarist, better than most if not all those players you mentioned.

Oh yes, he sh*ts on Angus Young

* Davey Lane (You Am I) - Probably the best guitarist in Australia at the moment

Ha! Being proficient at grinding out old Faces riffs doesn't quite qualify him for the 'best in OZ' tag, I'm afraid.

TLE are a top band.

The song writing between their first and second albums is similiar, sbut the third is very different.

Anyone who plays the guitar should try sitting down and looking at the chords and the way he has developed into different melodic patterns and chord movements.

Personally I love em.

I also feel there is a lot of branding of music as "emo" or "punk" when it is simply pop rock.

simple plan are pop rock. If you try and make them Mozart of course you won't like them.

genres are a tricky thing. We all feel very defensively about our bands and as soon as someone puts a band we don;t like in our preffered genre we get up in arms about it.

On the flip side we refuse to listen to some genres and end up missing out on some good bands.

take the blinkers off people.

Jebediah were caned for putting out what is supposedly a very good power pop album.

That's what happens when you mess with the formula for some folks.

I thought Braxton Hicks was a superb album. Very different to early Jebediah stuff, but my oh my it worked. For some reason, the critics said that the songs sounded the same as Slightly Odway, when anyone who has listened to both would know what a ridiculous statement that is.

I haven't heard it yet but one of my best mates who's a definite power pop purist loves it, so there's a good chance I will too.
