How cringe worthy

I prefer songs that grow over time. They're the ones that hold my interest over the years and I believe have more thought put into the song writing process.

Some examples:

Jane's Addiction
Opeth
November's Doom
Dream Theater
Devin Townsend

A great pop song will always stand up over time also. I think Cheney is responsible for quite a few of these.

L.E are a bit repetitive but Greenday?

their early albums are some of the best melodic punk ever made and their new stuff has broadened their appeal (arguably too much...). lay off em!

I'm a fan of the Living End, but won't exactly be rushing out to get State of Emergency. However, it will probably eventually have a place in my CD collection.

IMO, they peaked at Roll On. Modern Artilillery was quite so-so.

"Whats on Your Radio" has to be the worst lead single off a high profile Australian album in many many years. The new single with the kids choir - god it does make me cringe...

The comparisons to Green Day are a tad harsh to Green Day. Green Day are bad but not that bad :)

Jebediah were caned for putting out what is supposedly a very good power pop album.

That's what happens when you mess with the formula for some folks.

Living End's EP's and First Album are thesh*t, they havent topped that since but Roll On wasanexcellent album and Modern Artillery certainly had its moments (End of the world, hold up, the room etc). Last saw theband atthe Enmore Theatre and that is up there with the best gigs i've been to.

No wonder you like metal then. The anti-catchy, if you will.

Yeah basically. It boasts qualities that few other styles do.

Love my freestyle jazz though.

lol If there was any doubt about your predilection for musical wankery, it has been dismissed with that quote. The dude from The Commitments said it best... "Jazz is musical wanking. If you want to wank, use that thing in your hand, not your sax!"

Whoever said that the Living End guitarist is "the best in Australia" needs to be shot. From a guitar and music perspective they are un-original and very standard. I guarantee you that there would be about 1000-1500 guitarist in Australia alone that are thechnically and musically better than Chris.

Whether they are a good band is open to opinion, but from a musical and technical perspective they are nothing to get excited about.

Agreed. Too many people seem to fall for the 'They're my favourite band therefore he's the best guitarist' trap.
