Good game that was. forwards really struggled in the first 25-30 which allowed Genia to control things from the base and we were always gonna struggle with a loose trio of Lowrey, Saili and Braid. Boric had a very quiet game by his standards it must be said and Williams trying to tap and go in our half which resulted in a penalty to the Reds also didn't help the cause.

It was f**ken laughable when either Tim Horan or Brendan Cannon described James Slipper as a world-class prop. He was getting munched by Tom McCartney, a makeshift prop :lol:.

It would also help if 99% of Stephen Brett's kicks didn't get charged down. It's getting ridiculous now.

Well done to the Reds and good luck for the rest of the season

Slipper is getting there. Didn't McCartney play prop last year for Auckland? He isn't exactly makeshift. Kaplan is horrible at scrums. Once he deems a prop to be getting owned he really hammers him. There was one scrum where Slipper got penalised but the replay showed McCartney was the one at fault. Slipper will only get better. He's what, 20-21 years old?

If you take Samo away the average age of the Reds is something like 23 or 24. There's a lot of growth in this team. Their performance this year has surpassed my expectations.

Thomas, McCartney has never played prop ever. He is a makeshift prop.

And yes hellteam, Genia is very good. Apart from his kickoffs, Cooper didn't impress at all imo.

He might have played there a club rugby which is of a very average standard and he would have still spent most of his time at hooker but he has never played there at NPC level and this would be his first season covering prop in professinal rugby. Having said that, he plays a lot better there then he ever has at hooker.

The Blues certainly are blessed with front row stocks. Best front row in the comp? I'd say they are up there.

With Woodcock, yes we definitely are without being biased. However, with Mailau, our scrum is considerably weaker.

Dickenson was rather shite. He missed some crucial calls (as did his touchies) for both teams. Good to see the Reds able to grind out a win...geez, the Crusaders are looking good for the finals though.

Cracking game.

The missed knock on calls were annoying. As were the borderline forward pass calls, but these happen all the time.

Seeing the breakdown laws applied correctly was fantastic.

The Reds got away with this one, but they stayed in it and they were there to take advantage when it counted.

Don't forget the 9 points that Cooper pissed away in the first half.

They were not the better team... that last call on Mccaw wasnt even the worst call of the game... both reds tries came from missed calls from the dick... nothing in that game changed my opinion that the Reds can not win the comp...

Scored 2 tries to 1 and deserved the victory,last year 41-20 away from home against the Saders and this year 17-16 at home,Reds are just a far superior team to those dopey Kiwis
