How good are you at RL2?

I got it for Xmas, & I am playing on League God. I just won the minor premiership & had the best F & A with Dragons.

It is just me or is the game a bit too easy? Or am I actually a League God?

Theres not much of a difference between Legend and League God in my opinion. I won a premiership on League God with the best Point differential aswell.

I play 20min Legend and only lost 2 matches just, have to say I got pretty unlucky in one (glitched) and in the other lost by 2 points.

I think the real challenge is against other players which I'll be doing once I go online.

Haven't played it for a couple of weeks.. Got, Medal of Honor 'European Assault' for Christmas which i have been playing, and bought Topspin the other week for only $25... So i have been playing that a bit aswell, when i have had time. RL2 is pretty easy once you get use to it.

I am of the opinion League God is still quite easy - the ability to play real opponents Online will be the greater test.

The reason why the game is so easy is because things are still so easily to exploit. Atleast they arn't as odd ways as Rugby League 1 was (mainly scrums and making the ball bounce from kick offs).

They have to make a better scrambling defence system IMO make the dummy half scooting just a touch more difficult to make metres from. Improve defence in the 20m mark as well.

It's more difficult than RL1, but the more you play it obviously the easier it is to work out a system for maximum benefit from your attacking plays, according to the way the engine of the game works.

I try and win things from the ground up, so have just won my comp on seasoned and am moving up to legend. Have spent time looking around the franchise mode with simulated games - there's lots of scope for that to develop with future editions of the game. And online play would be great when I get around to looking at that...

If there's an RL3 with as much improvement as this one in two years time, then it will fully surpass all known rugby play/management games... and that would be a great thing!

Totally agree Bartman, its only gonna get better, we just have to be strong and support the franchise for now.
Imagine RL3 on PS3, now that would be something!

Sure would be.

IMO the second isn't too bad (well not as bad as some people say it is on the SidHe forums) personally I'd give it an 8/10 (10 being the best, 5 being an average game and 1 being poor).

What the gameplay needs to do is fix some of the gameplay mechanics.
*Fullback needs more ball there should be a passing button to pass it to him and make him come up at the line.
*Player Responsiveness needs to be fixed.
*Sprinting needs to be fixed, it has to be either holding down the button or tapping the X not both IMO.
*Palming should have some more effect.
*Forwards running onto the ball should be given more power to fend off or shoulder bump players. Lockyer seems to be tougher than Webcke which makes it totally unrealistic.
*Dummyhalf scooting has too much effect, make it harder to make metres.
*Bomb mechanics should be tinkered with as well as contesting for the high ball
*Stronger goal line defence, more players together in the middle and let them slide more.
*Fix some of the stupid forward pass glitches.

Other features:
*A much more in depth create a player
*A never ending season mode
*Allow the coaches to select their represenative sides
*Players can get involved in off-field dramas and thus lose pay or get suspended
*Keep head to head stats but add a stats list to see who the top try scorer and so on much easier
*Players personality, as I posted awhile ago have certain players have individual talents. For instance give Benji his step to go both ways, some players line up to get the ball more than others or come into support or don't support at all. Just qualities like those to set players apart.

Well I could have more but that's all.

If they had all that then IMO they've created the best sports game IMO.

What would you guys suggest?

The thing that hacks me off is the when the opponent kicks towards the touchline and your player runs it into touch because its right next to the touchline. I also think they have to tidy up the shortkicking, to make it worthwhile.

Yeah I noticed the fullback doesnt get the ball as much as RL1, its like he's not even there.

Im going well at everything except the goal kicking, the aim button is hard I always miss even from when its virtually in front.

My fullback gets the back quite often? He regularly chimes in at first receiver on some early tackles, so I can select him for a direct pass, or pass elsewhere and then to him as a second receiver. He doesn't seem to back up/chime in on wider backline movement plays though...

I'm on Legend level now and making the finals, but will keep playing until I'm minor premier and winning the GF before stepping up to League God. My defence is quite good, and I'm keeping a lot of teams to 0 scorelines at full time.

My attack is shocking though, I can't seem to score many tries through their goaline defence, and end up potting a field goal for many wins in golden point :(

I just beat the Bulldogs 135-6 in a 20 minute game on God..Most of the players fatigued quite quickly. Especially Patten who with 15 minutes to go, I was able to outpace easily with Dunley.

Too easy methinks...No custom players either.

I don't think I'm the greatest, I was pretty crap at RL1 on anything other than legend, mind you I didn't play legend or league god that often because I thought they were a bit too hard, seasoned was my cup of tea. But in RL2 I've tried everything to make the game harder and ended up having to turn off each individual players tackle ability so as I could give the AI a chance on League God. The game is more suited as a multiplayer game imo.

I actually thought there was a bug or something. I scored consecutive tries without one tackle being made. Their kickoff would go directly to Kennedy (12), I'd simply draw in Utai and Tonga, pass to Hicks he'd either step, outpace or fed Utai and casually jog around Patten.

Other times I'd run straight through a gap directly from the kickoff and score without being touched or having to step/fend.

I bought the game the day it came out and have only played it a few times due to the fact that its at my mates place because i have an overseas PS2 version (yes i know you can turn the chip off but ive still got an overseas version PS2 anyway).

I am very used to RL1 and this game has similar controls so i fit in pretty well. I'm was pretty good at this but then realised i could improve my game alot if i took out those useless props (and sometimes hooker) and replaced them with speedy wingers and centres. Now (yes, i'm a sharks supporter but i play as the dragons) I have Coops or simmo carving them up at dummy half...
