We all know you can't just 'change a jersey' though yeah?
Submissions have to be with the NRL for like 18months so they have time to change all their stuff that logos/jersey's and sh*t appear on.
I like our current jerseys.... and seriously, if this is the biggest issue (along with the food that the STH forum kept harping on with) then I don't think we are in that bad shape.... I can think of many other things firstly, which Ozzie also touched on - community relations, open training, memberships etc etc

A good read. Sounds like we've got the best candidate we can have in terms of our footy operations.

works for me

cant stand the canary yellow crap

I could hug both Twizzle and Avenger right now (if I knew you, otherwise, you might be freaked out). The Blue retro top is one of the best ever. The canary yellow is gaudy and not our traditional colours!

Go Paul, make th change. Bring back the golden era.

So just remove some of the gold from the seams and you would be happy? and off course change the collar.

Um, no. Change the colours, have three clear, plain stripes, and make the colour a deeper, 1947-2000 shade of Blue. It needs to be changed and made to look like the image above. Not that hard.

No, not the biggest issue (lots of other stuff needs to be addressed), but an issue close to my heart and lots of others. Lets just stick to our most traditional strip and not change it, just like in the AFL, just like Osbourne says.

I think you may find though that not everyone thinks like that. I like the modern look, and I know alot of other that do as well. I think it may be even grounds here.
IMO 2001 was one of the worst jerseys we have had.
In any case there is an 18month notification period as we found out at STH forum.

I would also hope that we try and fix other things before worrying about a jersey pattern that's all.

I agree with you Hellsy. I also like the modern look, except I wish we would use the blue one as our home jersey. Also I agree with the 2001 version as being the worst, especially when we were wearing those disgusting yellow socks as well.

I don't mined if we change the strip every 3 years, cos one, everyone has their own preference as to what they like and don't like, so it keeps us comfortable in the knowledge that it is not permanent, as I was in 2001. And two, I have never really felt that we have had a kick arse strip anyway. Some good ones yes, and the blue and gold colour is to me the best in the league, but I am still waiting for a strip that really blows me away.

I wouldn't mind seeing a V style strip. That, if done well could trump all the other strips in my opinion. The V always gives the wearer a better defined look. Especially when worn by big and powerful athletes.

Oh and have I mentioned, I know that this will never happen, unless we could resurrect Jack Gibson from the grave and put him in charge of designing the playing strip, but I would one day love to see us change the Eel logo with the RAM. This is also the one topic that I have also always agreed with D Fitzgerald on.

The Eel is such a dud of a moniker to use in marketing and sales. I mean as unique as it maybe, how excited can you get a kid about an eel ffs. Believe me I have tried, and I have never been successful. Where as the Ram can be made to be both threatening and mean or cute and cuddly. Very easy to sell to people, and steeped in tradition since Parramatta is the berth place of sheep farming in Australia. No one else can claim that honor but us.

I don't update jerseys very often as I think most people do, so if they change every few years it doesn't worry me. I will next change when we have a design I like.

I think as we have no real traditional strip I would rather change every few years than stay with one I dislike.

And Ram we are Parramatta, the place of the eel.

Thanks, Fitzy.

We've already had a Ram in the NRL, suggesting that is like suggesting we become the Parramatta Bears or the Parramatta Jets... or perhaps even the Parramatta Seagulls. Dumb.

No one might agree with this, but I think the 2001 jersey brought in a fresh new wave of fans to the club. Dont have any facts to prove it, but that jersey seemed to really resonate with teenage girls. Which is refreshing to see at footy games.

I also must admit that I like the current logo. It looks very professional and sleek aswell as fierce. Im all for tradition, but if we need to change some minor things in order to attract the modern day fan, then I have no problem with it what so ever.

All good talk from Osborne, time will tell if he can back up the talk with actions.
