How can you get excited about a rabbit or a rooster or whatever?

Stupid.

The Eel kicks arse. Any suggestion to change it is pure wankery and a clear sign of someone who has absolutely no clue.

Some clubs have mascots that are totally without context or history - Titans, Tigers etc. Others relate to their area etc - Panthers, Roosters, Cowboys etc. We are the only Club that has a mascot that reaches back beyond European settlement and could go back possibly thousands of years. Hell, it's quite possible that out of all the sporting clubs in the entire world, ours reaches further back into history and culture than any other.

Changing it is stupid.

they updated it from the council logo to something more marketable but still kept it historically connected.

Removing the Eel from Parramatta doesn't sit well with me at all.

I didn't say that it would happen, and I know that it would have a lot of resistance from many current supporters, but it is MY opinion that it would be a better logo over time and MY personal preference. People should remember though that very traditional teams like the Bulldogs & the Roosters also changed their moniker mid stream. But like I said it is just MY opinion and it would take a very competent and charismatic person to pull it off.


Oh and Jiz, just because you don't agree with someone's suggestion, doesn't mean that it or they are stupid. If that were the case then virtually every time that you put your fingers to the key board we would call you and your mind blowing thoughts STUPID! Oh wait a minute...that's right we do!
