How ironic, Vatuvei "I want to have a great game for Kris [Inu]"

I would pick Manu.
That is he is actually fully fit.

I think Cleary honestly has biggest issues to work through other than just Manu.

Johnson = going missing, just as detrimental to warriors bad performance.
I saw one backline move down the left he was caught out the back.
no heart = giving inside balls coz he scared to take the ball to the line.

Im a big fan of his improvement - but he has to put his hand up to win the game.

They got dominated by Brisbance on the ground/ in the wrestle, slow ptb.
thats where they lost the game.

put themselves underpressure and caused by mistakes.

For sure. Poor Manus copping it because his botch ups were reminisant of the famous game from hell vs Eels a few years back, but the whole team need to look at themselves after last night. And part of me feels for them. No one goes out to play shit, or choke and crumble in front of 48 000 and fans at home sitting watching. We're frustrated, pissed off, undecided whether to be gutted or angry...so will they.
They have another life, I'm confident they can shock the critics in Aussie that'll be nailing the coffin shut by putting in a good game. Shutting the tigers with their momentum will be a big call- I reckon they can do it.

No. Manu hasn't turned it around at all this season - he has been average all of 2011 and just had his worst game of the year yesterday. Why the hell would he suddenly get better in the space of 7 days? He's out of form - shouldn't play.

Everyone and i mean everyone will be writing us off for this week. So lets play a few tricks. Throw Manu to centre or in the forwards, its now or never.

But as i said Tigers dont put up bombs cos they dont have the wingers to catch them

But lets mix things up even play Heremaia Lance Johnson Locke and Maloney all at once

Graham Lowe has been calling for a move into the middle for Manu for a while now, maybe he is right after all. We have done it with Tony Williams and he is absolutely killing it at the moment

I like Manu, but he is probably the worst player inside his own 20m that I have ever seen, constantly dropping the ball or trying to force an offload in that zone, even when he is in reasonable form

Can guarantee there will be a segment of the Sunday Roast on him today. How about Fatty saying they need to remove his brain at halftime lol

T-Rex drops about 2-3 balls a game also... Something about these big dumb players :p!?

I'd be loathed to start putting guys like Inu or Tupou at centre. Finals games aren't the games to start doing things like that. Although if there is absolutely no choice then I'd go for Inu. Berrigan should surely be alright if he was almost fit for the Broncs, and Mannering said he should be fine as well.

If it was up to me I'd play Vatuvei and Inu on the wings, funnily enough. Manu will be out for redemption and Inu is just better in every way than Tupou.

"It's funny when u have a bad night n how fast people can turn on yah n u know hu really supports yah doesn't worry me. thanks 4 ur support!"

Makes a fair point. He's been a gem for us for so long, hits the skids (albeit spectacularly) in one match and all of a sudden he's a chump and we can't get rid of him soon enough.

Something a bit stronger on James Maloney's page as well..

Perhaps. But, as spectacular (in a negative sense) as this weeks game was from him, he's been ordinary all season. And we dropped Inu, who was playing well, for him. Sure, it's been a tough season for him injury wise...but yeah

One of the things that makes this so hard is that everybody loves Manu Vatuvei. Somebody remarked straight after the match that even when you are furious with some of the decisions that he's making, you can't help but feel desperately sorry for him. We all want him to go well and recognize the value and worth that he brings to the team. However, on form, he just isn't there right now.

In any event, I think that we can't drop him now, even if we were inclined to. If Mannering and Moon and Berrigan are poked, Inu will have to go into the centres...right?

C'mon, this is Ivan we're talking about.
So long as Manu can hobble he will be in Fridays team.
(And all other backs and half a dozen loose forwards will have to be ruled out before Inu is in.)

Oh absolutely he has, he's hardly fired a shot.

I guess my beef is with the sort of people that heroically jump on Twitter and bag him personally, on his page or whatever. I hate mediums like that where people can do that...you can be sure as sh*t if they ran into him at the Otara Markets they'd be singing a different tune.

He's definitely open to criticism, and as I said I think he should be dropped on form. But have it in perspective - say Manu had a shocker, has been poor this season, injuries probably affected it, as did confidence, and we've seen as of after Parra 2007 he's capable of turning it around. It's sheer hard work that's going to do so.

Maybe he's been a bit lazy in training, not doing the extras he was to right the ship last time. That'd be my guess.

I agree entirely with Meth and PW's sentiments above.

I have no respect for anyone who says he's sh*t, should be released, insults the guy. But Manu HAS been in poor form all season; injury related as usual, and Cleary made - in my opinion - a big mistake selecting him ahead of Krisnan Inu... a player who has been in great form. And Cleary will be making another big mistake tomorrow when he names Vatuvei to play versus the Tigers.

I do hope he shows up mentally and physically and has a massive game for us to prove all the doubters wrong - but I think it's an illogical selection and more likely to cost us the game than win it.

He injured his wrist didn't he? And apparently it was affecting his grip. I'd put Inu at centre to replace moon and Inu can drop back for bombs.
