How many coaches are we going to go through before you guys give it up?

I wouldn't have Smithy back - too much history there - altho I reckon he'd do a damn better job at rebuilding the mess we are stumbling into atm

Isn't it ironic.
I feel the same way atm tbh.

Funny thing is, the person who hired this buffoon is unanswerable to anyone.

Swifty, you have no idea about the posters on this forum. Most gace brian a lot of praise , the last couple of years we understood there needed to be a change.

I have spoken to Brian in Newcastle, and thanked him for the structure he created. What we have is a current coach who on reflection oversaw a downward spiral in Newcastle, has continued with poor recruuitment and retention that dogged him there. he has over 2 years to make our club better and we are in worse position that when he arrived, no signings and good players let go.

Why would we not criticise him, if I got paid close to $400k I would be put on my ear if results were like his. Come to think of it, I would be gone in my career with the lask of attitude and performance from my staff that we have seen this year.

HAGAN IS SOFT AND SHOULD BE GONE.

That is the real story, Swifty get real

Smith is not the answer for us.

But I am confident of one thing: players like Weller, Junior, Tautai would be playing much harder tougher footy if they were at Newcastle this season.

You are now praising Brian Smith at Newcastle when everyone wanted him gone from here a few years ago. He then finally gave in to the pressure. Hagan is going to end up going and we will get a new coach, and we will have as equally as bad performances.

So when does it stop? Are you all going to just keep blaming the coach until you finally realize that there are other factors:

-Players aren't performing
-sh*t management
-Unrelenting pressure from demanding fans
-Cases of circumstance (HAGAN HAS BEEN HERE TWO YEARS, THIS YEAR THE TEAM HAS NOT PERFORMED. HIS FIRST YEAR THEY DID. YOU CAN'T WIN EVERY YEAR)...

Tim Smith didn't leave because of Hagan, he left because of you guys. The fans of Parramatta do not harbor a good culture, generally speaking. Sure he had problems but honestly, he is dealing with them fine elsewhere. The management doesn't harbor a good culture by the sounds of things too. They demand too much and too fast. 2007 we did fine, no one compares to Melbourne. 2008 was a hopeless year but honestly, move on and build a bridge. Everyone has them. I don't think it was THAT pathetic either, we just didn't live up to our expectations.

Eventually no one is going to want to coach anyway.

Parramatta = Coaching Suicide. Approach at caution.

Sure Hagan has to have some responsibility, but you can't just point fingers at him in particular.
And I suppose will all passed on Bipolar to Timmy as well?

:)..

No I'm not leaving, are you Mrs and Miss Smith?

You must have had family issues though when Brian was here. You were pretty quick to turn your back on him.

But now you see the grass isn't greener on the other side, and you are one big loving family again.
Wrong! our grass is just as green over here the only problem is we need the coach to stop smoking the f**ken thing.

I never totally blamed brian smith for our bad times with him - I believe we have alot of soft players in the ranks - many were here with brian and many and still here being soft with Hages ... so I do not entirely blame Hages for our piss poor efforts this year (altho he is a part of the problem)

I do however fear for the immediate future of our footy team and that I substantially attribute to Hages .... I genuinely see us going backwards next year - the rest of the NRL is improving their rosters while we are back peddling .... and surprise, surprise, apart from Newcastle having joey and danny to keep them kicking, Hage's last appointment did basically the same thing

I wouldn't have Smithy back - too much history there - altho I reckon he'd do a damn better job at rebuilding the mess we are stumbling into atm
Remember Feleti and Jarryd did not get a look in until Smith pissed off?

Not after this season, no. But what is Hagan meant to do mid-season when we were relying on the players selected to stand up?

Select other players perhaps ? Try something different by giving some young guys from the Toyota Cup a run or some of the successful Wentworthville players a shot .
In the end - he did nothing to try and stem the tide of failure - except make pitiful excuses and bury his head in the sand .
Smith had to go after 10 years ....his time had passed , but Hagan has 1 more year to do something and if he fails then he can bugger off too .

I don't think he ever stopped giving a crap.
I think he just lost control and respect.

Suity

Sorry Suity, but the stories I heard from multiple sources is that he just stopped caring and did not put in 100%

To the Question of the thread, until we get a coach that can turn this club into a genuine premiership winning club, and not one that solely lives on its past glory.

Whatever you say.

The thing is, I also believe that if Hagan doesn't perform next year he should leave the club? I am confident that he will perform if his players are willing to stand up as well.

There is no way that Toyota cup players would have helped us in our situation. If he deviated from the original plan of using our gun players, that could have been more detrimental and we would have finished somewhere around the wooden spoon, hence giving you more logs for your pessimistic and unfounded fires.

I think we should relocate the club and call ourselves "The Pessimism Eels'

The issue with Hagan is not the choice of players but the fact we still go into games thinking negative gameplans will get us over the line.

What gameplan did we have for most of the year? We had no structure once we got in an attacking position! If it wasn't for the crossfield bomb, what options did we have on the 5th tackle?

Lets face it, we were hopeless this year. I'm sorry, but everyone needs to take responsibility, the coaches, players and support staff. Ultimately though, Hagan has to cop the most blame.

Pretty sure it was Roy Spagnolo's fault.
