I think it's called the Canberra tax. Players are worth some amount, but then you have to pay 15% extra to get them to Canberra, which is why we miss out on a lot of players.

Believe it or not, Tyran is on over 300k a year! He is in our top 3 highest paid players but I don't know exact figures or who earns more. Jason Smith is only on 220k per season but now that management didn't sign him weeks ago he is rightfully asking for more next year. Do whatever it takes I say.

I think they need to throw some excess funds at Chalky. Upgrade and extend his contract. He has shown enough at fullback and wing for the Gold Coast to have a go at him. We need to lock him up NOW before someone else get him.

Did we sign Withers before or after we lost Macca? Either way we have a lot of cash spare. If we don't then Hawkins and Furner have swiss bank accounts. Go in for Harrison big time I say.

I believe that in 2004 or 2003 he was our highest paid player. Don't forget he was running around with Wiki, Croker, Schif, Davico, O'Hara (origin) and the captain Woolford. I can't explain it either - maybe he is related to Hawkins and Ronald Furner. Personally I would pay him in shopper dockets.

Interesting figures Woodgers - he joined the club for 2002 so he was signed up in 2001 - would have been a contract the old management created.

In the CT today it said we are planning to upgrade and extend Kahler and it will be announced today, that Rothery, Chalk and Graham are all in contract extension talks, that Smith is only on 170k a year but will be upgraded to the region of 250k for next year.

That's the way, re-sign pedestrian players like Rothery and Kahler and get no one else to the club.

For some reason, as a group of supporters, we love average players and hate seeing them leave although most never do as they are getting overpaid to do f**k all.

Just once I'd love to see us sign a marquee player instead of rejects from other clubs.

I know what you are getting at Tidus but we don't have the crop of juniors coming through like we did 10-15 years ago. We have to move with the times and I'm sick of merely making up the numbers.
