Personally, Rich, I am not at all optimistic. Once again, not enough has changed to make a lot of difference and things do need to be very different. I feel the Warriors are still paying the price for very weak and ineffectual recruitment. Bell may be gone, but they are left with the mess that was created.

I wonder how much longer Eric Watson can continue to bankroll a mob that has slowly but surely developed a losing culture. It seems that the players just don't care, and to be fair, if you are not punished for poor performance, why would you.

Too true. Scurrah did his fair share to screw the club. Did Watson fire him? No, just moved him sideways. Funny how decisions trickle down.

Should make top 8, but don't see making top 4... no great joy in making top 8 that should be a given/minimum for us (as it is for Easts, Melbourne, Brisbane, Manly, Souths) - so, not terribly optimistic

Judging by the response (rather - lack thereof), it would appear that quite a few of the diehards have actually given up on them. I couldn't blame or think less of them if they had.

Not given up on next year, certainly over it this year.

Really depends on injuries I've gone for top eight bit I think 5-6 would be a good result. Like many have said there is enough attack in the spine just need solid defence on the edges to be more than competitive.

Given the last few years, I really really just want them to make the finals. After high expectations and disappointment lately, I'll keep my expectations in check and hope for a low top 8 finish. With the team we have, that should be doable.

I think the main issue would be the expectations for us next year will be very high, so that will be interesting to see them manage.

Completely agree With The Dawn. It should be very doable.

Didn't see this either, I reckon top eight on the back of a massive landslide of tries.
Our attack will be at its best since 2002-03

Defence and overall attitude will cost us, we won't win many finals games if any

I'm optimistic -Luke, RTS and less injuries (surely), plus our rookies more experienced should see a reasonable year and finals football. But then again we are f**ken useless haha. Yep, I think its hard to be optimistic at the back end of a season where we have just lost seven in a row.

Poor timing to poll when everyone is pissed off, frustrated, or just meh... Ask again in Feb!

I didn't see this until today and I check daily, could be the sticky.

I'm optimistic, if only because I think our guys could be buoyed by the fact Issac and RTS are coming. As we showed against Melbourne, when we turn up we're actually OK. But when we don't, we're absolutely abysmal.

I think 5th-6th or so, without being nearly good enough to challenge the more professional sides. Our coach isn't good enough to get us through a round robin high enough and win finals. He's just got nothing in his history, playing or coaching, that suggests he will. Not a winner in his league career. Nice guy, I'm sure. But not a winner. And our squad aren't the Harlem Globetrotters, we're a good squad on paper that needs professionalism and strong structures.

I just have an awful feeling finals might be enough to see McFadden through to 2017, when it should be a higher aim - and we should be canvassing other options anyway.

Bottom line is the Dragons have won 11 and lost 12 - they're pretty much shit and in the 8 - any team that misses the 8 is appalling - we've been appalling for a few years now.

All clubs missing the 8 should be looking hard at themselves - not convinced we are tbh

Regardless of how this last game plays out on Sunday, I'm sticking with cautious optimism.

Mostly because of Jim Doyle, but also because of local boys done good RTS & Luke bringing some spark with their individual talent as well as personal experience in the more professional (it would seem) Roosters & Rabbitohs systems.

Surely Warriors should be tapping into the experience these guys have had in their former setups, in terms of player perspectives on what makes a successful team on & off field, and implementing into the Warriors system in some way or fashion. Similarly the likes of Hoffman and now Ligi Sao from Manly.

Not thinking about placings next season, but intrigued to see what news we'll be getting out of the Warriors between next Monday and next March.
