How the Warriors can make it to the Grand Final

1. Beat Titans by a big score at home next week.

2. Beat the Panthers away the following week.

3. Have the Eels lose to Newcastle next week at Hunter Stadium.

4. Win the first week of the playoffs (probably against either Cowboys or Panthers) away.

5. Beat one of the losers of the top 4 group.

6. Beat one of the winners of the top 4 group.

Currently Warriors are at $51 to win the Grand Final.

I am waiting to see if the Warriors can run up 40 points against the Titans, and to see if the Eels lose to Newcastle, at Hunter Stadium before investing $100 on the Warriors winning the Grand Final (which is likely to be against the Roosters).

I'd say they are value at $51 to be honest. I mean they don't have much of a chance, and it would take a massive form reversal and some luck, but they could still make the finals and magically start playing well. Not saying it will happen, just that its worth a lazy $10 at those odds.

What's with the circle jerk hate for this guy? I've seen his posts in the main forum and he seems like a legitimate Warriors supporter, so he should be allowed to post here without being berated.

Are you serious? Check the threads he creates - anyway, each to their own

But Hurrell was not fit, and the Warriors came up against the likely Grand Final winners.

WTF, we have been awful for a month, should have lost to the wooden spoon team, and the Roosters finally give us the towelling we've been asking for, and now they're the favourites?

Nothing between Souths, Manly and the Roosters imo, carving up the Warriors, Cronulla, or Canberra at the moment proves little

Anyway to answer Albert's question.
Pay for their tickets like the rest of us.

Albert is an ESL fan who jumped on the bandwagon because of "omg Tomkins and Leuluai"
Either that or he's just having a good troll

His geniused posts about us being smokies, title contenders, and rubbishing Townsend just shows he really doesn't watch or follow the Warriors

We can still finish anywhere between 5th (it's possible though highly unlikely) and 11th (more possible than 5th I'd say, we can still come only 10th even with 2 wins).

Best case scenario would include some combination of the following (with pre-requisite 2/2 against Titans & Panthers) :
- Eels winning max 1/2 (Knights/Raiders)
- Storm winning max 1/3 (Panthers/Broncos/Roosters), ideally beating Broncos only
- Bulldogs losing both (Rabbitohs/Titans)
- Cowboys winning max 1/2 (Sharks/Manly)
- Broncos/Dragons only winning 1/2 (play each other so neither can win both)

Absolute best case I've found (not accounting for P/D in games yet to play, i.e. only using 1pt winning margins) on the predictor to finish 5th is :
Panthers win tonight, next week Bunnies/Dragons/Knights/Roosters/Sharks, last round Broncos/Raiders/Eagles/Titans.
Though Storm losing three straight highly unlikely, as is Eels losing to Raiders, Sharks beating Cowboys and us winning two straight!

Oh well, wait and see!

Win 6 in a row, only the first of which is played in NZ, against increasingly strong opponents, one of which scored 46 at your ground yesterday, and the premiership is yours fellows. And you'll deserve it too.

Now back in the real world a much more likely scenario is a win next week followed by a loss at Penrith.

At this stage, i'd be happy just to make the 8.
I can't see it happening.
I can't believe the downward spiral we've had the past month.
Scrappy win which should have been comfortable, followed by a loss to the Knights which, we knew we HAD to win, then an absolute spanking.
We don't deserve finals footy, playing like that mere weeks before the finals.

Is Cappy losing his touch? Is it something stemming deeper?
Is it a lack of on-field talent? or talent there but just not putting in? I do not know.

Good points, I reckon.

1. No, they definitely do not deserve to be in the semis, although 8 teams means some crap will be there
2. Not sure there was any clear evidence he had a special "touch". Ellliot is an awful coach (demonstrably), we could have replaced him anyone and seen an improvement.
3. Not sure our team is anywhere near as talented as some make out... and some of the genuine talent (Matulino, Hurrell, Johnson, Mateo) either seems to have regressed a bit (Matulino imo) or simply never shown the ability to perform at the highest level week-in-week-out, or are apparently past their use-by date (Mateo). Some of the players hyped as talents (Tomkins, Leuluai) simply aren't. The best players in the team (imo, Mannering, Friend, Lilyman, Vatuvei) are among the less naturally gifted or have physical gifts and a huge heart (Manu)

There's better charities to hand $10 to than the TAB.

Mateo has always and will always be inconsistent. We value these guys way to much. Would we really be missing him this year if hed gone to the Dragons??.
