The initiative, dolly, the initiative. Think about that I word rather than insurmountable.

As was said, none of Carige's errors led directly to points.
I was quoting him you idiot, so give your school lessen to him. So your saying Crrige giving the ball back to the opposition didnt cost the game???:lol::lol:

He was no tard.

In fact, it was only two weeks earlier when he had a terrific game against the Broncos to help the Eels earn their place in the Prelim.

He just had a bad day against the Dogs.
Outside of a 20-team competition he wouldn't have played NRL. In fact a couple of years later he was in the Qld Cup once rationalisation started.

What people havent mention how good was the old extra time each way , not this golden point rubbish

I agree - but from memory, the side who scored first in extra time seemed to win all the time anyway.

How to lose a Grand Final Jamie Ainscough Style?

I have always thought everyone was pretty harsh on Ainscough. Smith caught the ball cleanly and would have scored anyway so it didnt make a huge difference - except the kick was from in front.

It was tied genius, or do you not remember extra time you nuff nuff? Slater gave NZ an insurmountable lead? by the 4 points he gave up??????? they lost by 14

They did not score off his kick up field. That play did not contribute in any way towards the losing of that game.

When he went into touch in extra time the dogs were already up

Without that try Australia would have hit the lead when Inglis went over in the corner, instead they still had to play catch up footy and let in another try (and another when it was all over).

Slater also actually got barrelled over for a couple tries as well. 1 not really his fault, but he certainly could have and should have stopped Hohaia's try. Got bumped off like a bitch.

Parra were up 18-2, Carige was not directly responsible for any of the tries that brought the game back to 18-18. The whole team has to take responsibility for that.

As for extra time - the dogs were already winning when Carige made his mistakes, sure he might have cost them a chance to get back in the game, but Parra should never have been in that position in the first place.

The Carige footage is painful to watch. One blunder after another, & his team mates turn their backs & shun him like a leper.

Yeah, nice ROnnie. However, I remember Hodges having a lot to do with that.

Still feel that Harrigan stuffed on Cariges first "mistake". That ball was moving. And would ahve done his confidence no good at all.

I'm with Ronnie Dobbs. The Broncos comeback against the Bulldogs in the second half of the finals game in 2006 was the best I've ever seen. Lockyer single handedly embarassed the entire Dogs team.

I can't remember how much they were up by at the half but it was looking like game over and then the Dogs absolutely fell apart. I don't think they scored a point in the second half.

Where's the article about the Dogs second half capitulation in the 2006 prelim?

Most Broncos fans I talk to cite this match as their favourite match, sometimes even in front of grand finals.

It's even better if the rumours are true that Mason was giving it to the Broncos players as they walked off at half time.

I think it was 20-6 at half time to the Dogs, ended up being 31-20 our way (I think). It was Hodges playing at fullback that sparked the Broncos. A couple of the runs he made were astonishing.

Vintage Bill Harrigan.

The most overrated thing in Rugby League history is Bill Harrigan.
