How to take a song from a Vid clip and turn it as a MP3

First find a cable that joins your headphone/speaker output to your microphone input?

Then try Sound Recorder while playing the video file, but you might have to tweak it so the default recorded clip length is say five mins, rather than 30 secs. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/82215

Audacity will record whatever is coming out of your speakers and then you can save it as an mp3 file, if you follow a few simple instructions after installing the Lame plug-in

Allows you to rip the audio out of the video file and save it directly as an mp3. Works with avi and wmv files so if yours is in a different format you'll need a ripper that supprts that format.
