13-16th for mine. I have zero faith in the imbecile we have as a head coach and if McCrone starts over Williams, then I'm leaning more towards 16th.

Morgan may bring about a new game plan but until I see otherwise, I'm a massive doubting Thomas.

the upside of this would be whining wind bags like you won't will be confined to the key board & real Raiders fans won't have to put up with the likes of you spoiling their day at an actual game

oh what am I saying

you wouldn't know where Canberra Stadium is anyway ;-)

With the NRL anything can happen. So we shouldn't write of the Raiders. But I really don't see them making the playoffs this season. For mine they will struggle higher then say 12th spot.

Why are you saying "we" in regards to a team you don't support?

They will be close to the bottom. Furner will go close to losing the 30 games in a row needed for him to be fired by the board.

Picked 9th-12th cause Furner is a f**kwit. I wouldnt be too shocked if they made the 8 though.

Baffles me why a lot of Raiders fans are so down on McCrone.

who .... legend ?

well for starters don't lump us with him
my 10 yr old daughter knows more about RL then him ... & she knows very little about it ;-)

Mc Crone is a little cracker
he will start at 7....as he should

end of debate

What is Josh McCrones defence like?

If Canberra are short on a hooker, how about McCrone at 9, Williams at 7 and Campese at 6?

Hookers distribute in attack but the defensive load is much higher than a halfback would take. Would he just be a speed bump or could they develop him in that position?

Should be somewhere around 3-6. The Furner Factor will probably see this not achieved. Biggest underachievers along with Roosters and Parra for 2011.

Have them pegged for 9th to 12th despite their even years finals record. Wouldn't be very surprised to see them grab a playoff spot, but I don't think they are contenders...

Because he is a shithouse halfback. Decent running 5/8th, that's it. Williams is definitely the future.

Yeah, most fans think that he should be tried in that position. I would have preffered him to come on of the bench but we've now got Berrigan for the mean time so I don't think he warrants a position in our top side.

I have us top 4 , like all sides it does depend on injuries.

Campo coming back
No Tongue at hooker
No Orford at half

the embarrasment of 2011 when we were tipped for good things. The players believed in the hype and played accordingly. They wont have that false belief heading into the season

New approach to training.

Did I say Campo is back .

I also think McCrone is not a halfback , Williams is the best half at the club and I look forward to the day when we have a Williams/Campo combo

Williams should be the starting half

As per thread discusion, like most teams, if injury is kind to us then i can see us doing good things. Forward pack has to fire of course and we have to get the No 9 position sorted out early on.

If Dugan and Campo stay on the park for the majority of the season and Hopefully Berrigan compliments them, with that forward pack firing, we are top 8 easily.

Quietly confident of a much better season than the last.

mccrone i think is one of the best cover defenders in the game, he has genuine pace for a half and is very quick to react. Average half defender otherwise.

Im a huge fan of trialling mccrone at hooker, he's got a good enough passing game, he excels at taking the ball to the line and i think his pace out of acting half working off our pack (if it performs to its ability) would be a deadly mix. His defense wouldnt stand up to it though but i do think with time he's got the build and desire to succeed that with half a year playing 60 minutes of hooker he'd improve to a level of being an average defensive hooker

2 things i can tell you right now

1. he is not ever going to be a better 5/8th than Campese (even though its his best position)
2. he is not ever going to be a better halfback than Sam Williams

which is why i am an advocate for Campese Williams combo, they are potentially a superstar pairing. Sam Williams is a genuine halfback talent, our best genuine halfback talent since R.Stuart
