Don't the Raiders have a habit of going bad season, good season, bad season etc.

They had a real Pottinger of a season in 2011, so maybe 2012 is going to be good.

Aside from the obvious bad coach issue, I think their squad is a little overrated "on paper." There is talent but it seems to be wildly inconsistent.

Dugan is a massive talent but will need to string an injury free season together to really have an impact on the comp. Campese is an unknown after the tough run he's had.

Oh no! The Raiders are looking at McCrone as a possible centre? Holy dog shit batman!

Twats like Raiderdave and Skeepe, being absolute geniuses on all things Raiders, would be wrong and I would be right? How could that be, seeing as though I know less than Raiderdave's daughter....

Oh, to the two imbeciles who profess to know more than me about rugby league and the Raiders, why is it you two merkins remain silent when other Raiders fans prefer Williams over McCrone or talk about McCrone as a possible centre???

Your hypocrisy goes close to outdoing your stupidity but we're not quite there yet...

Why do they hate you? Did you forget to get on all fours when Alan Tongue walked past? Did you claim that a Canberra 30 loss was not actually the refs fault?

Haha if anything Parra were overachievers last year.

You think they should have come last? :p

I'm not a sycophant supporter who believes there should be no accountability and blindly support the team no matter what.

Tongue was a massive liability and I have a major issue with the Furners running and coaching the club. We have no direction and one oar in the water.

I call a spade a spade and until I see otherwise, I will continue to criticise all those within the club who deserve it.

Hard to ever write Canberra off for the Top 8 but I don't think they'll be premiership contenders in 2012 - not with Furner around and some drastic changes.

Obviously their hopes lie in their big two - Josh Dugan and Terry Campese. They really missed them last season and keeping them both on the field would be a huge step forward. Dummy half still remains a problem. Waddell has been a huge disappointment and Buttriss isn't a long term option. One would hope McIllwrick would be able to make the step up but after missing the majority of 2011 through injury one would have to assume his first year ambitions are a work in progress.

Still, I like their junior stocks. Papalii, Williams and Massey showed some real promising signs last season and the likes of Croker, Ferguson, Fensom and Thompson still have a lot of improvement left in them. Thompson in particular really interests me. I hope Furner shifts him into the backrow where he belongs as I believe he has all the skills to make it big in that position. If Ferguson can get his act together, he could challenge the likes of Uate, Gordon & Yow Yeh as one of the best wingers in the game. He just needs to learn how to die with the footy and stop pretending every game is like the one he had against Melbourne.

All depends on campese. If he is fit and plays well they will definetaly be a top 8 contender.

The lack of a hooker and strike center/winger means they aren't a serious premiership threat.

If Scott Prince wasn't injured the whole year (played like he was) and Carney wasn't an alcoholic we probably would have.

We had easily the shittest team. Any team that starts the year with Whatuera, Carl Webb, Chris Walker, Jeff Robson and Daniel Mortimer should be favorite for the spoon.

Can't see a lot changing in 2012. I don't rate Furner as a coach. The three seasons he has been in charge we have looked horribly unprepared in the opening rounds. Campese will take a good 7-8 weeks to regain any kind of form. Dugan's fitness is a flip of a coin, he seems to have some new niggling injury every week. We also can't play for 80 minutes (unless its against the dragons).

People say McCrone was a shining light for us in 2011. To me he's like Gidley, a valuable player but gets too much recognition because he "tries" so hard. I would rather see McCrone in the centres or trialed at hooker than in the halves.
